On the practical stability for a class of switched system
2012 9th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Computing Science and Automatic Control (CCE), 2012This paper addresses a problem of robust control for a class of switched systems with time-delays. We deal with controllable nonlinear models that satisfy a quasi-Lipschitz condition and include bounded perturbations. The stabilization issue is carried out by two linear feedback controls: the static and the switching one.

Practical stabilization of integrator switched systems
Proceedings of the 2003 American Control Conference, 2003., 2004In this paper, practical stabilization problems for integrator switched systems are studied. In such class of switched systems, no subsystem has an equilibrium. However, the system can still exhibit interesting behaviors around a given point under appropriate switching laws.

Liapunov and Riccati equations for practical stability
2001 European Control Conference (ECC), 2001In this note we use Liapunov and Riccati equations to derive bounds for the transient behaviour of a time-invariant linear system. A concept of "acceptable stability behaviour" is introduced and a sufficient condition for achieving it by time-varying linear state feedback is derived.

Stability analysis of practical anisotropie swarms
2010 11th International Conference on Control Automation Robotics & Vision, 2010This paper considers finite sense ability, finite motion ability and anisotropy into swarm system. We first construct an anisotropic model with a class of attraction and repulsions in terms of finite sense ability. Then we analyze their stability. It is shown that the individuals of the swarm model aggregate and eventually enter into a bounded region ...

On the practical BIBO stability of multidimensional filters
1993 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002The conventional definition of multidimensional (m-D) bounded-input bounded-output (BIBO) stability permits the m-D domain of the input signal, and of the m-D computations, to be of infinite extent in all m-dimensions. The definition of m-D practical-BIBO (P-BIBO) stability restricts the m-D domain of the input signal, and of the computations, to be of

On the practical value of the notion ofBN-stability
BIT, 1981The oldest concept of unconditional stability of numerical integration methods for ordinary differential systems is that ofA-stability. This concept is related to linear systems having constant coefficients and has been introduced by Dahlquist in 1963.

This chapter covers critical activities necessary to maintain an effective stability program. Best practices on day-to-day operational activities such as sample pulling, testing window, and chamber inventory are included in this section to provide guidance on current industrial practices.

New approach to magnetohydrodynamic stability: I. A practical stability concept
The Physics of Fluids, 1974An equilibrium is called σ stable if growth faster than exp (σt) does not occur. On the basis of this definition a modified energy principle is obtained by means of which the stability of plasma confinement systems can be tested for times of thermonuclear interest, instead of the infinitely long times which are pertinent to the usual stability analysis.

Stability of Psychiatric Diagnoses in Clinical Practice
International Journal of Social Psychiatry, 1996This is a retrospective study that aimed at studying the diagnostic stability of psychiatric diagnoses over a 4-year period. Three-hundred and twelve patients (n=312) admitted more than once to Al Ain in-patient unit from January 1, 1990 to December 31, 1993, were the subjects for this study.
