Studies on the ingestion characteristics of giant freshwater prawn, Chinese prawn and giant tiger prawn

Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology, 2000
The ingestion of giant freshwater prawn, Chinese prawn and giant tiger prawn had continuity and the ingestion high peak occurred at night. Light and temperature had significant effects on the daily ingestion rate (DIR) of giant freshwater prawnMacrobrachium rosenbergii. Red light and blue light favorably induced favorable ingestion.

Prawns and probability

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
We will deonstrate the use of (more or less!) Bayesian methods for inferring interaction rules between individuals in a system of collective animal motion. We examine a group of prawns moving in an effectively one-dimensional environment, which we reduce to a binary classification problem, aiming to infer the factors that predict whether an individual ...

This chapter describes the main biological traits and life cycles of the three shrimp species (Crustacea, Decapoda) present in the Bahia Blanca Estuary, which were selected because of their ecological and economic relevance. Two of these species belong to the Superfamily Penaeoidea, the Argentinean red shrimp Pleoticus muelleri (Family Solenoceridae ...

Occurrence of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes in cultured prawns from rice-prawn co-culture and prawn monoculture systems in China

Science of The Total Environment, 2022
Antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in the aquatic environment have raised great concerns, as the deleterious effects of residual antibiotics and the emergence of ARGs are challenges to aquaculture. This study analyzed feed, water, sediment and prawns' tissues from six culture ponds (integrated culture: rice-prawn pond; monoculture ...

Prawns Masquerading as Endobronchial Tumours

Respiration, 2006
This report details the events surrounding the case of an 89-year-old woman referred for surgery with a suspected endobronchial tumour. At rigid bronchoscopy she was found to have inspissated sputum within which the remains of organic foreign bodies (king prawns) were found obstructing the left main and left upper lobe bronchi.
