The Pre‐exponential Factor in Electrochemistry
Angewandte Chemie - International Edition, 2018AbstractLike many branches of science, not to mention culture in general, electrochemistry has a number of recurring topics: Areas of research that are popular for a certain time, then fade away as their possibilities seem to have been exhausted, only to return decades later as progress in experimental or theoretical techniques offer new possibilities ...

Reactive-diffusive equation with variable pre-exponential factor
Mechanics Research Communications, 2004The author considers a steady state problem for the temperature in a 1D slab with a variable pre-exponential factor. This models an exothermic chemical reaction with an Arrhenius term multiplied by a variable pre-exponential factor. After some transformations of the original problem, he is faced to the second-order nonlinear differential equation: \[ d^

This paper describes the misuse of Arrhenius pre-exponential factor in the kinetic and thermodynamic studies using thermogravimetry. Standard test method (ASTM E698) has been used recently by many researchers to calculate the pre-exponential factor. ASTM

On the Pre-Exponential Factor in Stress Relaxation
Physica Status Solidi (a), 1978It is shown that, for stress relaxation, the pre-exponential factor in the usual flow rate formulae based on the stress-aided thermal activation concept increases linearly with the initial effective stress. Experimental examples are presented for both metallic and polymeric solids, mainly at room temperature.

Pre-exponential Factor in Hydrogen Abstraction Reactions
Russian Chemical Reviews, 1972The principal rules governing the variation in the pre-exponential factor in reactions involving the abstraction of hydrogen by atoms and radicals are examined using the activated complex theory. 205 references.

Pre-exponential Factor in Semiconducting Organic Substances
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1968Experimental data on semiconducting organic substances are usually processed by use of the two-constant equation, σ(T) = σ0exp(−E / 2kT). Evidence from a number of cases now indicates that σ0 is dependent on E, when the equation is applied to certain single substances where E varies with preparation.

The coverage dependence of the pre-exponential factor for desorption
Surface Science, 1988Abstract The pre-exponential factor for desorption υ 0 is seldom measured as other than low surface coverage θ and is typically assumed to be independent of θ. Variations in υ 0 with θ are critically important in describing surface equilibrium and rate processes and in testing theories of desorption. It has often been overlooked that the functional
