Robust Exponential Hedging and Indifference Valuation [PDF]

open access: yes
We discuss the problem of exponential hedging in the presence of model uncertainty expressed by a set of probability measures. This is a robust utility maximization problem with a contingent claim.

Functional characterization of Ysh1p, the yeast endonuclease involved in 3" end processing and in transcription termination of RNA polymerase II transcripts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Eukaryotic RNA polymerase II (RNAP II) is involved in the synthesis of two major classes of transcripts: messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and small nuclear and small nucleolar RNAs.

Long‐Range Coordination Environment Modulates Single‐Atom Local States and Systemic Impact on CO2 Photoconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.

Artery‐on‐Chip Demonstrates Mechanical and Functional Features of Healthy and Diseased Living Smooth Muscle Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article details the development of an artery‐on‐chip platform for in vitro arterial disease modeling and therapeutic discovery. It describes the fabrication of a fibrin biomaterial scaffold seeded with iPSC‐derived smooth muscle and endothelial cells, mimicking native artery properties. Two genetic disease models showcase the platform's ability to

Calculating Double-Exponential Diode Model Parameters From Previously Extracted Single-Exponential Model Parameters

open access: yes, 1995
A procedure is proposed to calculate both pre-exponential reverse currents of the double-exponential model of a diode\u27s current-voltage experimental characteristics from previously extracted reverse current and diode quality factor of the diode\u27s ...

Kinetic Parameters for the Thermal Decomposition of Forest Waste Using Distributed Activation Energy Model (DAEM)

open access: yesEnvironmental and Climate Technologies, 2017
The purview of paper pivoted around the pyrolysis decomposition of forest waste (pine needle litter) by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Experiments were carried out in the presence of Nitrogen atmosphere.

Eliminating the Pre-exponential Factor in Classical Nucleation Theory

open access: yesChemical Science International Journal, 2019
Blander and Katz give a formula in classical nucleation theory, J = A exp K, for homogeneous nucleation (liquid-->gas). Jennings proved that dlnA/dK = 1/6K for all pure liquids by combining two theories, taking the limit as polymer concentration-->0. This gives lnA = (1/12)ln(K2) + C, where C is the integration constant.

Mesoscale Domain Evolution Mechanism during Alternating Current (AC) Poling of Relaxor Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric domain variants that are energetically equivalent are expected to remain preserved during polarization reversal. However, phase‐field simulations reveal that inclined domain walls in relaxor ferroelectrics can undergo irreversible elimination during alternating current poling through a proximity effect driven by long‐range elastic ...

Spectral calibration of exponential Lévy Models [1] [PDF]

open access: yes
We investigate the problem of calibrating an exponential Lévy model based on market prices of vanilla options. We show that this inverse problem is in general severely ill-posed and we derive exact minimax rates of convergence.
