Suppressing pre-hydrolysis in TiO2 manufacturing: Design optimization of an indirect heating hydrolysis system [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly
The particle size of 𝑇𝑖𝑂2 is critically influenced by the operation of the hydrolysis process. Failure to achieve uniform particle size during hydrolysis can have significant repercussions on subsequent processes, such as washing, reduction, and ...

Binding modes of decavanadate to myosin and inhibition of the actomyosin ATPase activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Decavanadate, a vanadate oligomer, is known to interact with myosin and to inhibit the ATPase activity, but the putative binding sites and the mechanism of inhibition are still to be clarified. We have previously proposed that the decavanadate (V10O28 6−

Effect of Biological and Chemical Pre-treatment on the Hydrolysis of Corn Leaf

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
Hydrolysis of corn leaf utilizing two treatment sequences was carried out in this study. The first treatment was chemical and involved subjecting the corn leaf to an alkaline pre-treatment and then to a smooth acid hydrolysis.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Colorimetric and Chemical Changes in Pre-Hydrolyzed Strand Board Particles of Pine and Eucalyptus

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
Changing wood color with physical treatment is an alternative method to avoid the use of chemicals harmful to the environment. However, despite this advantage, there are few studies on the chemistry and colorimetry of pre-hydrolyzed wood.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
