Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Leaf hyperspectral reflectance detects pre‐visual stress to Fusarium wilt in strawberries

open access: yesPlant Phenome Journal
Fusarium wilt, caused by Fusarium oxysporum, threatens global food security and high‐value crops like strawberries (Fragaria × ananassa) in California. Traditional detection, reliant on visual symptoms, often comes too late for intervention.

Effect of assembly pre-stress on the scratch behavior of polycarbonate [PDF]

open access: yesNanotechnology and Precision Engineering
Scratch damage can reduce both the aesthetic appearance and structural integrity of polymer surfaces. To optimize and enhance the scratch resistance of polycarbonate, this study investigates the influence of assembly pre-tensile and pre-compressive ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Pre-stress performance in an instrumental training predict post-stress behavioral alterations in chronically stressed rats

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, 2015
Stress is a major factor in the development of major depressive disorder (MDD), but few studies have assessed individual risk based on pre-stress traits.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Catastrophic failure mechanism of deep roadways and stress gradient control models

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Numerous factors influence the deformation and control of roadway surrounding rock, with stress gradient and pre-tension being two key factors. To investigate the intrinsic relationship between stress gradient and pre-tension and determine the optimal ...
