Low preoperative serum prealbumin levels and the postoperative surgical site infection risk in elective spine surgery: a consecutive series.

open access: yesJournal of Neurosurgery : Spine, 2018

The ratio of CRP to prealbumin levels predict mortality in patients with hospital-acquired acute kidney injury

open access: yesBMC Nephrology, 2011
Background Animal and human studies suggest that inflammation and malnutrition are common in acute kidney injury (AKI) patients. However, only a few studies reported CRP, a marker of inflammation, albumin, prealbumin and cholesterol, markers of ...

In vitro effects of prealbumin on T-cell-dependent immune responses of the mouse

open access: yes, 1981
The immunological activities of human prealbumin preparation were investigated in vitro. Prealbumin was effective at inducing precursors in nylon wool-nonadherent spleen cells of nu/ nu mice to express Thy-1 antigens.

Assessment of preoperative and postoperative prealbumin in thoracic surgery – a two months experience in a Romanian university hospital / Evaluarea preoperatorie şi postoperatorie a prealbuminei în chirurgia toracică - experiența de 2 luni a unui spital universitar din România

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 2015
Malnutriția este o constatare frecventă și importantă în secțiile chirurgicale. Deşi consecințele sale includ complicații postoperatorii și costuri mai mari, evaluarea nutrițională nu face parte din protocoalele preoperatorii de rutină.

Evaluation of plasma leptin, tumor necrosis factor-α, and prealbumin as prognostic biomarkers during clinical recovery from acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

open access: yesLung India, 2017

Value of prealbumin plasma levels as liver test.

open access: yes, 1987
To assess the sensitivity, specificity and clinical value of prealbumin as liver test, prealbumin plasma levels were measured in 100 patients with liver disease and in 65 patients without clinical evidence of liver impairment.
