Hypovitaminosis D in acute inpatient cancer rehabilitation: Prevalence, predictors, and practical implications

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Hypovitaminosis D is associated with adverse health outcomes, including increased mortality in patients with cancer. Although vitamin D insufficiency (23%–72%) and deficiency (20%–71%) are common among patients admitted to inpatient rehabilitation, their prevalence and predictors in cancer‐specific inpatient rehabilitation ...

Guideline for the Comprehensive Perioperative Management of Older Patients With Lung Cancer (2025)

open access: yesJournal of Evidence-Based Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the accelerating population aging, the number of older adult patients with lung cancer continues to increase. These patients often present with multiple chronic diseases and geriatric syndromes, resulting in more complex perioperative management and significantly increased surgical risks.

A PREALBUMIN ACTIVATOR OF PREKALLIKREIN [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1972
Human plasma kallikrein has been shown to directly and selectively attract human neutrophils from a mixed leukocyte population. The capacity of plasma kallikrein to be chemotactic and to generate the nonapeptide bradykinin was maintained during progressive purification.

Predictive Value of FT3/FT4 and Neutrophil‐to‐Lymphocyte Ratios for Post‐Ischemic Stroke Urinary Tract Infection and Their Association With Longitudinal Functional Recovery Trajectories: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
This graphical abstract illustrates how acute ischemic stroke may be accompanied by neuroendocrine‐immune dysregulation, represented by a low FT3/FT4 ratio and a high neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio, which together improve early identification of patients at risk for post‐ischemic stroke urinary tract infection.

Real‐World Prognostic Analysis of Clinical Characteristics in Extensive‐Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Nomogram for Survival Prediction in Patients Receiving First‐Line Immunochemotherapy With Serplulimab

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
Among 239 patients reviewed, 109 patients with extensive‐stage small‐cell lung cancer receiving first‐line serplulimab‐based immunochemotherapy were included. A nomogram incorporating liver metastasis, maintenance therapy, albumin, and neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio predicted overall survival and significantly stratified patients into three risk groups

Predictors and a Nomogram for Parenchymal Hematoma After Endovascular Thrombectomy in Large Core Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study developed and internally validated a nomogram incorporating baseline NIHSS score, monocytes, platelets, post‐thrombectomy fasting blood glucose, and number of passes to predict parenchymal hematoma after EVT in large core infarctions. A pass‐by‐IVT interaction suggests minimizing unnecessary passes during direct thrombectomy.

Effectiveness of prealbumin as an indicator of growth in neonates

open access: yesMedicine, 2021
Abstract We designed this study to assess the effectiveness of prealbumin as an indicator of growth as well as a nutritional marker in neonates. Between March 2017 and June 2019, we measured serum prealbumin concentrations of 80 neonates in neonatal intensive care unit at birth, postnatal day 14 and 28, and ...
