TFAM‐Mediated mtDNA Replication is Essential for Developmental Competence of In Vitro Grown Oocytes
ABSTRACT Purpose Mitochondria are essential for oocyte maturation and early embryonic development, supplying ATP and maintaining mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) integrity. During oogenesis, mtDNA undergoes dramatic amplification, but the mechanisms and functional significance of this process remain unclear. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the role

There is an increasing recognition that vitamin D plays important roles in female reproduction. Recent studies demonstrated that 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (VD3), the biologically active form of vitamin D, improved ovarian follicle survival and growth in ...

The Regulation of Apoptosis in Preantral Ovarian Follicles
Less than 1% of ovarian follicles ever mature to ovulation. The remainder undergo atretic degeneration via apoptosis during development. Though the regulation of antral and preovulatory survival has been studied for many years, very little is known about the regulation of survival and development of preantral follicles.

The Role of Anethole in Reproductive Physiology and In Vitro Biotechnologies—A Review
ABSTRACT In vitro reproductive biotechnologies show promise for fertility preservation but still face challenges, including oxidative stress from high oxygen tension, which impairs cell viability and development. Antioxidants have been widely explored to attenuate oxidative stress during culture.

Cytomolecular and In Vitro Toxicity Studies on Bisphenol A Effect on Ovine Granulosa Cells
Bisphenol A (BPA), an organic environment chemical, has extensive presence in consumer goods and food/feed items. The present study aimed to explore how BPA influenced the viability, proliferation, apoptosis, and steroidogenic activity of ovine ovarian granulosa cells (GCs).

ABSTRACT During recent decades a myriad of approaches have emerged for generating surrogate gametes or achieving in vitro gametogenesis (IVG). The most recent approaches to IVG include the development of increasingly complex culture systems, use of companion cells combined with germ line cells in two‐ or three‐dimensional configurations, derivation of ...

DTPA disrupts development of preantral ovarian follicles in vitro
Dietary zinc deficiency disrupts fertility in vivo by impairing oocyte and embryo development near ovulation. Acute treatment of newborn ovaries with a strong intracellular chelator (TPEN), which preferentially binds zinc, disrupts follicular development.

Sphingosine 1-phosphate promotes activation of aprine preantral follicle in vitro
This study describes the effect of sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) for development of preantral follicle, therefore the activation and follicular viability of caprine follicles cultured in vitro.

Simulated microgravity induces distinct mitochondrial hyperactivation patterns‐elevated OXPHOS and MMP‐which accelerate meiosis without SAC failure but delays MTOC coalescence, leading to spindle defects and meiotic arrest. Prolonging M‐phase restores MTOC assembly and oocyte maturation.

Background: One of the most major obstacles of ovarian tissue vitrification is suboptimal developmental competence of follicles. Matrix metalloproteinases 2 (MMP-2) and 9 (MMP-9) and their tissue inhibitors TIMP-1 and TIMP-2 are involved in the ...
