Comparison of mouse ovarian follicular development and gene expression in the presence of ovarian tissue extract and sodium selenite: An experimental study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Reproductive BioMedicine, 2023
Background: Ovarian tissue extract (OTE) and sodium selenite (SS) enhance the growth and maturation of preantral follicles in a dose-dependent manner. Objective: The present study was designed to bring more information regarding the mechanism of OTE and ...

Regulation of ovarian function: the role of anti-Mullerian hormone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), also known as Mullerian inhibiting substance, is a member of the transforming growth factor beta superfamily of growth and differentiation factors.

Identification of A p300–SP1–BRD4 Transcriptional Axis as a Key Driver of AR Hyperactivation in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a pivotal epigenetic regulatory role for the histone acetyltransferase p300, demonstrating that its acetylation of histone 3 at lysine 18 and 27 (H3K18ac and H3K27ac), alongside the formation of the p300/BRD4/SP1 complex, drives AR activation and ovarian fibrosis in PCOS.

HUMAN FOLLICLE STIMULATING HORMONE (hFSH) AND THYROXINE (T4) IN SURVIVAL MAINTENANCE AND IN VITRO GROWTH PROMOTION OF CAPRINE PREANTRAL FOLLICLES

open access: yesCiência Animal Brasileira, 2015
The aim of this study was to investigate the interaction of human FSH (10ng/ml) with T4 (20ng/mL) on survival, activation and growth of preantral follicles cultured in vitro for 28 days.

Insulin-like growth factor 2 is produced by antral follicles and promotes preantral follicle development in macaques†

open access: yesBiology of Reproduction, 2020
Insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) are known for their involvement in endocrine and paracrine regulation of ovarian function. Although IGF2 is the predominant circulating and intraovarian form of IGFs in primate species, the stage-specific follicular ...

Anti-Müllerian hormone overexpression restricts preantral ovarian follicle survival [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Endocrinology, 2018
Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is an ovarian regulator that affects folliculogenesis. AMH inhibits the developmental activation of the dormant primordial follicles and the oocyte within. In more mature follicles, AMH reduces granulosa cell sensitivity to follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).

Real‐Time and High‐Resolution NIR‐II‐L Imaging of Netrin‐1‐Mediated Neurovascular Coupling Driven by Dose‐Dependent Electroacupuncture

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Disrupted neurovascular coupling contributes to ovarian dysfunction in polycystic ovary syndrome. Using near‑infrared II long‑wavelength imaging, this study visualizes how electroacupuncture dynamically regulates ovarian blood vessels in vivo. Immediate and cumulative stimulation elicit distinct vascular responses via a Netrin‐1 dependent mechanism ...

Mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced human ovarian aging: double strand DNA breaks and microvascular compromise [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The mechanism of chemotherapy-induced acceleration of ovarian aging is not fully understood. We used doxorubicin, a widely used cancer chemotherapeutic, in a variety of in vivo xenograft, and in vitro models to investigate the impact of chemotherapy ...

Hesperidin improves the follicular development in 3D culture of isolated preantral ovarian follicles of mice

open access: yesExperimental biology and medicine, 2019
In vitro follicular culture systems provide optimal culture models for research about the physiology of the ovary and support the clinical practices to achieve competent mature oocytes for in vitro fertilization.

Unraveling ovarian histology: The key morphological aspects that spur the development of the Fossa ovarii in equine

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The equine ovary exhibits unique structural and developmental features that distinguish it from those of other domestic species, including the presence of an ovulation fossa and an inversion of cortical and medullary layers. This study aimed to investigate the morphostructural development of the equine fetal ovary, with particular emphasis on ...
