Effect analysis of WRF-Hydro model combined with different precipitation products to simulate runoff in the Qingjiang River Basin

open access: yes暴雨灾害, 2023
Taking two large runoff events and three small runoff events in the Qingjiang River Basin from 2016 to 2017 as the research objects, we analyze the spatial and temporal distributions of precipitation from the three products of CMORPH satellite-gauge ...

Thermodynamic Aspects of Precipitation Efficiency

open access: yes, 2011
Precipitation efficiency is one of important meteorological parameters and has been widely used in operational precipitation forecasts (e.g., Doswell et al., 1996). Precipitation efficiency has been defined as the ratio of precipitation rate to the sum of all precipitation sources from water vapor budget (e.g., Auer and Marwitz, 1968; Heymsfield and ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Seasonal and annual precipitation efficiency in Canada [PDF]

open access: yesAtmosphere, 1973
Abstract Precipitation efficiency is the percentage of the total water vapor over an area that falls to the surface as measurable precipitation on an average day. This variable focuses attention on the dynamic mechanisms that produce different precipitation patterns in different areas.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Precipitation, moderated by spring temperature and vegetation, drives runoff efficiency in the Upper Colorado River Basin, USA

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Streamflow in the Upper Colorado River Basin, USA has decreased proportionally more than precipitation in the recent multi-decadal drought. The causes are debated.

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Controls on the Width of Tropical Precipitation and Its Contraction Under Global Warming

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2019
Climate models robustly and unanimously simulate narrowing of the intense tropical precipitation under greenhouse gas forcing. We argue that the meridional width of tropical precipitation is controlled by the seasonal meridional range of the ...
