Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Leveraging a radar-based disdrometer network to develop a probabilistic precipitation phase model in eastern Canada [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences
This study presents a probabilistic model that partitions the precipitation phase based on hourly measurements from a network of radar-based disdrometers in eastern Canada.

Prediction of reversible α/γ phase transformation in multi-pass weld of Fe-Cr-Ni ternary alloy by phase-field method

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Joining Processes, 2021
Duplex stainless steel (DSS) is vulnerable to changes in the α/γ phase fraction due to the dissolution and precipitation of various compounds during multi–pass welding.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Trimpi Perturbations from Large Ionisation Enhancement Patches

open access: yes, 2000
A number of increasingly sophisticated and realistic models have been developed in order to investigate the interaction between sub-ionospherically propagating VLF waves and regions of enhanced electron density in the D-region caused by lightning induced

The driving mechanisms of particle precipitation during the moderate geomagnetic storm of 7 January 2005 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
International audienceThe arrival of an interplanetary coronal mass ejection (ICME) triggered a sudden storm commencement (SSC) at ~09:22 UT on the 7 January 2005. The ICME followed a quiet period in the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field (IMF).

TiFe Precipitation Behavior and its Effect on Strengthening in Solution Heat-Treated Ti-5Al-3.5Fe During Isothermal Aging

open access: yesMetals, 2018
We investigated the TiFe precipitation behavior of solution heat-treated Ti-5Al-3.5Fe during isothermal aging, quantified the effect of precipitation on strengthening by evaluating the hardness, and compared it to the effect of Ti3Al precipitation in Ti ...

Trends in the indices of precipitation phases under current warming in Poland, 1966–2020

open access: yesAdvances in Climate Change Research, 2023
In Poland the phase in which precipitation occurs impacts the availability of water in its reservoirs, the potential for hydrological droughts, snowfall flooding and winter recreation. The influence of warming on the occurrence of precipitation phases on
