All roads lead to IgA: Mapping the many pathways of IgA induction in the gut
Summary The increasing prevalence of food allergy and related pathologies in recent years has underscored the need to understand the factors affecting adverse reactions to food. Food allergy is caused when food‐specific IgE triggers the release of histamine from mast cells. However, other food‐specific antibody isotypes exist as well, including IgG and

A severe case of lipoatrophy due to human insulin and insulin analogs in a patient with diabetes: is an immunological mechanism involved? [PDF]
The precipitin technique has been used in insulin resistance and immunity studies since the 1940s [7]. In the case described, the technique proved, once again, to be a valid method for choosing the most appropriate insulin. However, whether or not an

Immunological studies on the membrane systems of cancer cells. II. Immunochemical specificity of the mitochondria from chemical carcinogen induced carcinoma cells [PDF]
As the results of investigating the antigenicities of various fractions from the membrane systems of cancer cells, it has been found that the remarkable cancer-specific antigenicity exists in cancer cell mitochondria.

The double diffusion precipitin test in human fascioliasis [PDF]
The recent outbreaks of human fascioliasis in Britain provided the opportunity for employing the double diffusion precipitin test in the diagnosis of this disease. In sensitivity and specificity this test appears to equal the complement-fixation test and has the advantages of simplicity and speed in its performance.
