The precipitin test in the diagnosis of tuberculosis

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1923
The precipitin test has been found to give reliable results in the diagnosis of active tuberculosis. The antigen is prepared by disrupting tubercle bacilli, preferable an old culture, with carbon dioxide by the method described by Larson, Hartzell and Diehl.1 The disrupted bacteria are filtered through paper in order to remove the shells.

The precipitin test in human systemic aspergillosis [PDF]

open access: yesMycopathologia et Mycologia Applicata, 1963
The sera of healthy women and of adult men either with chest disease or some other condition associated with a mycosis have been tested for precipitins against Aspergillus extracts. Although these precipitins have been demonstrated in the serum of patients suffering from systemic aspergillosis, they have also been detected in antenatal sera and in the ...

All roads lead to IgA: Mapping the many pathways of IgA induction in the gut

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 326, Issue 1, Page 66-82, September 2024.
Summary The increasing prevalence of food allergy and related pathologies in recent years has underscored the need to understand the factors affecting adverse reactions to food. Food allergy is caused when food‐specific IgE triggers the release of histamine from mast cells. However, other food‐specific antibody isotypes exist as well, including IgG and

Towards Better Test Coverage: Merging Unit Tests for Autonomous Systems [PDF]

open access: yesNASA Formal Methods (2022), 2022
We present a framework for merging unit tests for autonomous systems. Typically, it is intractable to test an autonomous system for every scenario in its operating environment. The question of whether it is possible to design a single test for multiple requirements of the system motivates this work. First, we formally define three attributes of a test:

Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis with metachronous isolation of three distinct Aspergillus species

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 12, Issue 7, July 2024.
Herein, we report a novel case of a 47‐year‐old Japanese man with sequential metachronous isolation of A. flavus, A. terreus, and A. fumigatus. Initially presenting with symptoms of productive cough and pulmonary infiltration, the patient experienced two relapses following treatment with oral prednisolone. Adjustments in therapy, including voriconazole

Fault Detection Effectiveness of Source Test Case Generation Strategies for Metamorphic Testing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Metamorphic testing is a well known approach to tackle the oracle problem in software testing. This technique requires the use of source test cases that serve as seeds for the generation of follow-up test cases. Systematic design of test cases is crucial for the test quality. Thus, source test case generation strategy can make a big impact on the fault

A rare case of allergic bronchopulmonary mycosis complicating pulmonary pleomorphic carcinoma

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 12, Issue 7, July 2024.
To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of allergic bronchopulmonary mycosis (ABPM) developing at the site of pulmonary pleomorphic carcinoma. Careful bronchoscopic examinations and histopathological evaluations of the surgical specimen led to a prompt and accurate diagnosis.

Morphy: A Datamorphic Software Test Automation Tool [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
This paper presents an automated tool called Morphy for datamorphic testing. It classifies software test artefacts into test entities and test morphisms, which are mappings on testing entities. In addition to datamorphisms, metamorphisms and seed test case makers, Morphy also employs a set of other test morphisms including test case metrics and filters,

The serlogical specificity of the lectin from Lens culinaris [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Lens culinaris, the common lentil, contains a lectin which has been shown to be specific for a glycoprotein saliva antigen and a glycolipoprotein serum antigen.
