The natural satellites ephemerides facility MULTI-SAT

open access: yes, 2008
Context. There is a need in some research facilities for deriving ephemerides, controlling observations, verifying various models of motion, and calculating the coordinates in space of natural planetary satellites. Aims. The goal of our work is

A High-precision Dynamical Model of Callisto: Incorporating Rotation Effects within Multilayer Internal Structure Models

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
China is planning to launch the “Tianwen-4” mission around the year 2030, with its aim being the exploration of Jupiter and its moon, Callisto. Within the realm of deep space exploration, the accuracy of ephemerides is of great importance.

Updated Interior Structure of Callisto From a Reanalysis of Galileo Data

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 15, 16 August 2026.
Abstract The internal structure of Callisto has been a long‐standing question since the Galileo mission. Previous analyses suggested a largely undifferentiated interior. We present an updated interior structure for Callisto derived from a reanalysis of Galileo's Doppler tracking data using new signal processing techniques.

A comparison of GPS broadcast and DMA precise ephemerides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We compare the broadcast ephemerides from Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) to the postprocessed ephemerides from the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA). We find significant energy in the spectrum of the residuals at 1 cycle/day and higher multiples.

Detecting an Ocean Inside Callisto With Geodetic Measurements From Europa Clipper and Juice

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 15, 16 August 2026.
Abstract Determining whether Callisto hosts a subsurface ocean, and the implications for material and energy transport through its hydrosphere, is of high interest to NASA's Europa Clipper and ESA's Juice missions. A recent reanalysis of Galileo magnetometer data strengthens the ocean hypothesis, but definitive confirmation awaits new measurements.

Precise Orbit Determination for ADEOS-II [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We performed the precise orbit determination of ADEOS-II using single frequency GPS data and reviewed the results. JAXA precise orbit determination system is called “GUTS (Global and high accUracy Trajectory determination system)”.

The ORCA‐TWIN qCMOS Experiment I. Science Case and Commissioning at Calar Alto Observatory

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, Volume 347, Issue 7, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We describe a pilot study to explore a new generation of fast and low noise CMOS image sensors for time domain astronomy, using two remote telescopes with a baseline of 1635 km. The experiment involves direct imaging with novel qCMOS image sensor technology that combines fast readout with sub‐electron readout noise.
