Stabilizing Total Mixed Ration Dry Matter to Mitigate Environmental-Relative-Humidity Effects on Lactating Cow Performance

open access: yesAnimals
This study evaluated environmental relative humidity’s (ERH) impact on dry matter (DM) in hay and total mixed ration (TMR), exploring strategies to stabilize milk production in lactating cows by maintaining a consistent TMR DM content.

A Collective Variational Autoencoder for Top-$N$ Recommendation with Side Information

open access: yes, 2018
Recommender systems have been studied extensively due to their practical use in many real-world scenarios. Despite this, generating effective recommendations with sparse user ratings remains a challenge.

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Evaluation of an application for dynamic feeding of dairy cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Dynamic feeding is an innovative application for concentrate feeding of dairy cows. Daily individual settings are derived from the actual individual milk yield response to concentrate intake.

Development of a High Precision Through-feed Grinder.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society for Precision Engineering, 1998
Hard and brittle thin-plate materials used in fabricating electronic components such as filters and oscillators have conventionally been subjected to a lapping process in order to achieve the required thickness within 1 μm. The lapping process, however, requires an operator's high level of skill; in addition, it is difficult to conduct automatic ...

Meta‐Rod Mechanical Metamaterials With Programmable Reconfiguration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Existing mechanical metamaterials achieve programmable large deformations in planar square or cubic configurations, restricted by required complex boundary conditions. This research proposes a 1D metamaterial, Meta‐rod, with linear, bending, twisting, area, and volume deformation modes.

Separate offering of forages and concentrates to lactating dairy cows: Effects on lactational performance, enteric methane emission, and efficiency of nutrient utilization

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science
: The objective was to evaluate the effects of separate offering of feed ingredients (SF) and frequency of concentrate feeding versus offering a TMR, on lactational performance, ruminal fermentation, enteric CH4 emissions, nutrient digestibility, N use ...

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

Empirical models to predict feed intake of growing-finishing pigs reared under high environmental temperatures

open access: yesScientia Agricola
Several empirical models were proposed to predict feed intake (FI) of growingfinishing pigs reared under high environmental temperatures. However, these models have not been evaluated under conditions different from those in which they were developed ...

Deciphering Small Molecule Diffusion Parameters Across Light Responsive Polymersome Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐responsive polymersomes bearing donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs) enable programmable control over small‐molecule transport across synthetic membranes. By systematically varying DASA density, an optimal functionalization regime is identified that maximizes light‐gated permeability.
