The potential gains of NOMA were evaluated in a satellite system with heterogeneous receivers, after considering the use of specific DVB‐S2X MODCODs, along with the impact of non‐linearities. It was concluded that a judicious power allocation in NOMA, jointly optimized with the IBO of the PAs, can yield significant sum‐rate gains.

Optimal Linear Precoding for Indoor Visible Light Communication System
Visible light communication (VLC) is an emerging technique that uses light-emitting diodes (LED) to combine communication and illumination. It is considered as a promising scheme for indoor wireless communication that can be deployed at reduced costs ...

Precoder and precoding method in a multi-antenna system
A precoder and a precoding method in a multiuser multi-antenna system are provided. The precoder includes a channel checker for determining a DownLink (DL) channel condition of terminals in a service coverage area, a pre-compensator for pre-compensating, for channel distortion, signals to be sent to the terminals when a nonlinear algorithm is selected ...

In this paper, we investigate the application of signal‐to‐leakage‐plus‐noise ratio (SLNR) beamforming to low Earth orbit non‐terrestrial networks. The SLNR criterion aims at maximizing the received desired signal power for each user while minimizing the overall interference power caused by each user to all other co‐channel receivers. We show that such

The performance limitation in multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) feeder links due to time and phase misalignment of the ground stations is investigated. Time and phase distribution over optical fiber is considered as an approach to achieve the synchronization requirements.

Waveforms for the Massive MIMO Downlink: Amplifier Efficiency, Distortion and Performance
In massive MIMO, most precoders result in downlink signals that suffer from high PAR, independently of modulation order and whether single-carrier or OFDM transmission is used. The high PAR lowers the power efficiency of the base station amplifiers.

Spectrally Precoded OFDM [PDF]
By bilinearly transforming the rectangularly pulsed multicarrier basis signals, new basis sets containing full-response continuous basis signals are developed for constructing spectrally efficient orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signals with or without cyclic prefix (CP) or zero padding (ZP).

5G new radio multiuser precoding in geostationary satellite networks
This work evaluates the standardized 5G new radio codebooks for closed‐loop multiuser precoding in GEO multibeam scenarios and derives a list of recommended 3GPP standard modifications for a proper support to GEO mission needs. Summary The multiuser precoding procedures standardized by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for new radio (NR ...
