The potential gains of NOMA were evaluated in a satellite system with heterogeneous receivers, after considering the use of specific DVB‐S2X MODCODs, along with the impact of non‐linearities. It was concluded that a judicious power allocation in NOMA, jointly optimized with the IBO of the PAs, can yield significant sum‐rate gains.

Multiuser precoding scheme and achievable rate analysis for massive MIMO system
We analyze the downlink multiuser precoding of massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system, where the base station (BS) has ideal channel state information (CSI) and adopts three types of different linear precoding schemes, i.e., maximum ratio ...

In this paper, we investigate the application of signal‐to‐leakage‐plus‐noise ratio (SLNR) beamforming to low Earth orbit non‐terrestrial networks. The SLNR criterion aims at maximizing the received desired signal power for each user while minimizing the overall interference power caused by each user to all other co‐channel receivers. We show that such

Successive Block Diagonalization Precoding for Multi-User MIMO System
Block Diagonalization (BD) is a common linear precoding technique for the downlink of multi-user MIMO(MU-MIMO) systems. A drawback of conventional BD is that the effective channel gain for each data stream can be severely unbalanced when each user has ...

Distributed Precoding for BER Minimization With PAPR Constraint in Uplink Massive MIMO Systems
Precoding can effectively reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted waveform but will usually degrade the bit error rate (BER) performance.

5G new radio multiuser precoding in geostationary satellite networks
This work evaluates the standardized 5G new radio codebooks for closed‐loop multiuser precoding in GEO multibeam scenarios and derives a list of recommended 3GPP standard modifications for a proper support to GEO mission needs. Summary The multiuser precoding procedures standardized by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for new radio (NR ...

In the massive MIMO system, the only full digital baseband precoding(FD-BP)scheme(such as full complexity zero forcing)requires the same number of radio frequency(RF)chains as the number of antenna elements, which leads to extreme high hardware cost, the

High-Throughput Satellite Precoding Algorithm Based on Non-Ideal Channel State Information
In order to suppress co-channel interference caused by frequency reuse, high-throughput satellite communication systems have begun to study ground interference suppression technologies, including multi-user detection technology applied in the reverse ...

Applying large language models to extract information from crop trait prioritization studies
Investigation of farmers', consumers', and other stakeholders' trait preferences is vital for the adoption and impact of improved crop varieties. While qualitative research methods are known to increase the depth and scope of information from respondents, only 5% of previous trait preference studies used qualitative data in their analyses. We show that
