Validation of Physics‐Based Simulated Accelerograms for Seismic Fragility Analyses of Italian RC Existing Building Types

open access: yesEarthquake Spectra, Volume 42, Issue 2, May 2026.
This article aims at exploring and validating the use of 3D physics‐based simulated ground motions as seismic input for the derivation of seismic fragility curves based on nonlinear dynamic numerical analyses. Fragility curves are computed for a set of pre‐code (i.e., designed only for vertical loads), reinforced concrete building types representative ...

From Molecular Motion to Macroscopic Function: Tailoring Tetraarylethylene Supramolecular Architectures for Aggregation‐Induced Emission and Wave Absorption

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Integrating light emission and electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption into a single material opens up possibilities for multienvironmental applications. Herein, we propose a novel “molecular engineering‐pyrolysis conversion” strategy to construct a bifunctional system with tunable photoluminescence and efficient EMW absorption performance.

Location‐Assisted Graph‐Based User Scheduling in Multi‐User MIMO LEO NTN Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, Volume 44, Issue 3, Page 275-287, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses user clustering and scheduling for multi‐user MIMO low Earth orbit nonterrestrial network systems in full frequency reuse. Since the number of on‐ground user terminals is usually much higher than the number of on‐board LEO satellite antennas, user scheduling becomes a fundamental task.

Co‐textual dopes: How LLMs produce contextually appropriate text in chat interactions with humans without access to context

open access: yesJournal of Linguistic Anthropology, Volume 36, Issue 1, May 2026.
Abstract This paper asks how LLM‐based systems can produce text that is taken as contextually appropriate by humans without having seen text in its broader context. To understand how this is possible, context and co‐text have to be distinguished. Co‐text is input to LLMs during training and at inference as well as the primary resource of sense‐making ...

Modeling and Optimization of Frequency‐Doubled Radio‐Over‐Fiber Link Based on Deep Learning Technique

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
This article proposes a deep learning (DL) approach for modeling and optimizing frequency‐doubled radio‐over‐fiber links. By collectively replacing traditional components with DL model, accurate system evaluation is achieved. Moreover, through an end‐to‐end architecture, performance optimization is accomplished.

Three-Dimension Massive MIMO for Air-to-Ground Transmission: Location-Assisted Precoding and Impact of AoD Uncertainty

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
This paper investigates the 3-D massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) for air-to-ground transmission, where an air platform (AP) is equipped with a 2-D rectangular antenna array and communicates with a number of user equipments (UEs) on the ...

Affine precoders for reliable communications [PDF]

open access: yes2000 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37100), 2002
It is known that precoding a signal prior to its transmission through an unknown finite impulse response channel facilitates the equalisation of the channel. Moreover, since linear precoders spread the spectrum, the equalisation process mitigates the effects of channel spectral nulls caused by frequency selective fading.
