Dendritic Cells—Ontogeny—

open access: yesAllergology International, 2007
Dendritic cells (DC) play key rolls in various aspects of immunity. The functions of DC depend on the subsets as well as their location or activation status.

The Fate (Outcome) of Clinically Apparent Single Lesion and Oligofocal Nephroblastomatosis Treated According to SIOP/GPOH Protocols for Wilms Tumor

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between

Total electron content variations in the ionosphere before the Colima, Mexico, earthquake of 21 January 2003 [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 2005
Anomalous ionospheric variations associated with the process of strong earthquake (M>5) preparation has been fairly well established. To check possible ionospheric variations connected with the recent Colima earthquake, M=7.8, of 21 January 2003, the ...

Two Faces of NOTCH1 in Childhood Lymphoblastic T‐Cell Neoplasia: Prognostic Divergence of Mutational and Structural Aberrations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In pediatric patients, T‐cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T‐LBL) survival exceeds 80%. Relapse remains associated with limited curative options. Frontline treatment is largely extrapolated from T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) treatment, reflecting the ongoing debate, whether both entities represent distinct diseases or variants within ...

Orthorhombic cerium(III) carbonate hydroxide studied by synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications
Cerium(III) carbonate is a precursor material for the synthesis of various Ce-containing compounds. In this work, a synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction study of commercially obtained ‘cerium(III) carbonate hydrate' indicates that multiple Ce-containing ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Human NK Cell Development: One Road or Many?

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
CD3−CD56+ NK cells develop from CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors (HPCs) in vivo, and this process can be recapitulated in vitro. The prevailing model is that human NK cell development occurs along a continuum whereby common lymphocyte progenitors (CLPs ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Precursors and Laggards: An Analysis of Semantic Temporal Relationships on a Blog Network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We explore the hypothesis that it is possible to obtain information about the dynamics of a blog network by analysing the temporal relationships between blogs at a semantic level, and that this type of analysis adds to the knowledge that can be extracted

Concomitant downregulation of neuropeptide genes in a marine snail with consecutive sexual maturation after a nuclear disaster in Japan

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2023
Consecutive sexual maturation (CSM), an abnormal reproductive phenomenon of a marine snail, Reishia clavigera, has occurred since 2017 in the vicinity of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant after the nuclear disaster there.
