On the Dynamics of a General Predator-Prey System [PDF]
Problem statement: In this study a general two dimensional predator-prey model is considered. The dynamic and existence of equilibrium points are studied. Conclusion/Recommendations: Hopf bifurcation is discussed. The existence and uniqueness of limit cycles is proved. Special cases are considered to justify our results.

Peri‐implant soft tissue integration (STI), weaker than natural teeth, raises peri‐implant disease risk. Gingival‐region material surface properties critically modulate soft‐tissue responses, driving surface modifications to enhance STI. This review provides an in‐depth analysis of the challenges of STI around dental implants, comprehensively reviews ...

Preferential Membrane Remodeling on Curved Biointerfaces Induced by Conjugated Oligoelectrolyte
This study explores how membrane shape influences the interaction of conjugated oligoelectrolytes (COEs) with lipid bilayers. Using a curved biointerface composed of nanobar arrays and supported lipid bilayers, it is revealed that COE intercalation preferentially remodels curved regions, forming distinct structures. These findings highlight the role of

A variable stiffness structure with shape morphing and shape memory capabilities made from layered textiles and 3D printing material is developed. Direct printing of cPLA on textile electrodes maximizes the electrodes' contact area. This work presents a new method for achieving variable stiffness in small segments of soft, deformable structures, using ...

Enhanced Two‐Photon Excited Emission of Quantum Emitters by Colloidal Plasmonic Metasurfaces
Colloidal plasmonic metasurfaces presenting a completely exposed optical cavity are fabricated via templated self‐assembling silver nanoparticles into squared arrays on top of a thin film of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots. The resulting structure promotes the enhancement of the two‐photon absorption and emission processes of the quantum emitter by exploiting ...

A crystalline layer is formed by an amphiphilic decylamine surfactant at the air/water interface. Aldehyde‐containing ester oil droplets self‐propel by consuming amines from the crystalline layer, thereby generating open channels along which myelin‐forming amphiphile droplets chase and ultimately catch the aldehyde droplets in a predator–prey analogy ...

The impact of different assembly strategies is discussed on the performance of nanoscale aptamer‐based SWCNT‐FET biosensors. By combining electrical and optical characterization, this is revealed that how aptamer conformation affects local electrostatic changes within the Debye length, leading to distinct sensor responses.

Evolutionary dynamics of predator-prey systems: an ecological perspective [PDF]
Evolution takes place in an ecological setting that typically involves interactions with other organisms. To describe such evolution, a structure is needed which incorporates the simultaneous evolution of interacting species. Here a formal framework for this purpose is suggested, extending from the microscopic interactions between individuals--the ...

The effect of seasonal strength and abruptness on predator–prey dynamics
Coupled dynamical systems in ecology are known to respond to the seasonal forcing of their parameters with multiple dynamical behaviours, ranging from seasonal cycles to chaos. Seasonal forcing is predominantly modelled as a sine wave but the transition between seasons is often more sudden.
