PREDICTED DIFFERENCES AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PREDICTIONS [PDF]
ABSTRACTWhen K tests are given to N individuals, and for each individual there are available two criterion measures, then (1) the multiple regression weight to be applied to the standard score for each test to predict the criterion‐difference score is equal to the difference of the weights for predicting each criterion separately; (2) the difference ...

This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Multiscale Analysis of the Predictability of Stock Returns
Due to the strong complexity of financial markets, economics does not have a unified theory of price formation in financial markets. The most common assumption is the Efficient-Market Hypothesis, which has been attacked by a number of researchers, using ...

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

The Predictability of Name Truncation: Factoring in Language Change
Truncation of proper names (e.g. English Robert > Rob) has been claimed to be a marginal or extragrammatical word-formation process due to the presumed unpredictability and irregularity of its outputs (Dressler & Merlini-Barbaresi 1994 et seq.). In this
