Quantization Error in Predictive Coders
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1975Predictive coders have been suggested for use as analog data compression devices. Exact expressions for reconstructed signal error have been rare in the literature. In fact most results reported in the literature are based on the assumption of Gaussian statistics for prediction error.

Streaming prediction-error filters
SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2016, 2016Prediction-error filters (PEFs) are essential for seismic deconvolution and other geophysical estimation problems. We find that nonstationary multidimensional PEFs can be computed in a “streaming” manner, wherein the filter is updated incrementally by accepting one new data point at a time.

Prediction Error PDF Improvement in Multichannel Predictive Coders
2006 IEEE 14th Signal Processing and Communications Applications, 2006In this paper, multichannel predictive image coder outputs are investigated within each channel. By obtaining prediction error biases and compensating them in each channel, the total error histogram is sharpened.

Microelectronics Reliability, 1978
Abstract Errors are introduced in software at all stages of the software production and the number of errors found during the software development phase affects significantly the cost of a project in terms of manpower and computer resources needed for correcting the errors. Early detection and correction of errors leads to substantial saving in cost.

In this thesis, we investigate methods for automatic detection, and to some extent correction, of grammatical errors. The evaluation is based on manual error annotation in the Cambridge Learner Corpus (CLC), and automatic or semi-automatic annotation of error corpora is one possible application, but the methods are also applicable in other settings ...

Maximum likelihood and prediction error methods
Automatica, 1979Abstract The basic ideas behind the parameter estimation methods are discussed in a general setting. The application to estimation or parameters in dynamical systems is treated in detail using the prototype problem of estimating parameters in a continuous time system using discrete time measurements. Computational aspects are discussed.
