Predicting levels of preventive dental behaviors
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1985This study examined the value of SLT as a model for predicting levels of dental hygiene behaviors. The brushing and flossing frequency of 131 adults was measured both retrospectively (via questionnaire) and prospectively (via self-monitoring records). Two types of SLT variables--expectations and environmental influences--were reliably related to dental

Modeling and Prediction of Human Behavior
Neural Computation, 1999We propose that many human behaviors can be accurately described as a set of dynamic models (e.g., Kalman filters) sequenced together by a Markov chain. We then use these dynamic Markov models to recognize human behaviors from sensory data and to predict human behaviors over a few seconds time. To test the power of this modeling approach, we report an

Predictive behavior of optokinetic eye movements
Experimental Brain Research, 1988Optokinetic nystagmus is often thought of as a "primitive" oculomotor response, while smooth pursuit is thought of as a "higher" one. We have used conditions that are usually thought of as eliciting optokinetic responses; i.e., large-field stimuli confined to the retinal periphery, and instructions to subjects to respond passively.

Predictive Markers of Pituitary Adenoma Behavior
Neuroendocrinology, 2006The optimal goal for pathologists is to provide important information to clinicians in order to predict tumor biology. Specific morphologic features may serve as predictive markers of tumor behavior. Macroscopic invasion of the perisellar tissues, defined as radiographic or gross operative finding, is considered a more consistent prognostic indicator ...

Predicting thermal behavior of interconnects
1999 IEEE International Integrated Reliability Workshop Final Report (Cat. No. 99TH8460), 2003Previous investigations into thermal characteristics of embedded interconnects produced a wafer level technique for measurement of the thermal conductance, as well as a quasi-analytical model for predicting the results (Harmon, Gill and Sullivan, IRW 1998).

Predicting Depletion Behavior of Condensates
Society of Petroleum Engineers Journal, 1969Abstract A rapid, accurate method for predicting the dew points of gas condensate systems and their points of gas condensate systems and their subsequent normal and retrograde phase behavior with pressure decline has been developed.

Evidence of Predictable Behavior of Security Returns
The Journal of Finance, 1990ABSTRACTThis paper presents new empirical evidence of predictability of individual stock returns. The negative first‐order serial correlation in monthly stock returns is highly significant. Furthermore, significant positive serial correlation is found at longer lags, and the twelve‐month serial correlation is particularly strong.

The Validity of Simulated Prediction of Behavior
The Journal of General Psychology, 1991The author examined a method of predicting behavior, in which the responses of individuals who might conceivably perform certain behaviors were independently simulated by experts acquainted both with the individuals and with the predicted behaviors.
