Intraoperative prediction of postanaesthesia care unit hypotension

British Journal of Anaesthesia, 2022
Postoperative hypotension is associated with adverse outcomes, but intraoperative prediction of postanaesthesia care unit (PACU) hypotension is not routine in anaesthesiology workflow. Although machine learning models may support clinician prediction of PACU hypotension, clinician acceptance of prediction models is poorly understood. We developed a ...

Predicting Influenza Epidemic for United States

International Journal of Environmental Health Research, 2020
Influenza causes repeat epidemics and huge loss of lives and properties. To predict influenza epidemics, we proposed an infectious disease dynamic prediction model with control variables (SEIR-CV), which considers the characteristics of the influenza epidemic transmission, seasonal impacts, and the intensity changes of control measures over time.

Predicting deaths among intensive care unit patients

Critical Care Medicine, 1988
Daily APACHE II assessments to reflect the dynamic pathophysiologic processes affecting ICU patients were carried out prospectively on 212 adult ICU admissions for the purpose of predicting hospital outcome. Trend analysis of daily APACHE II scores was used to develop the first set of criteria for predicting deaths among the ICU patients.
