Predictive control has emerged as an attractive alternative for the control of matrix converters. The predictive control is a flexible method to control different variables through the minimization of a cost function. In drive system, the predictive control can be divided to predictive current control (PCC) and predictive torque control (PTC).

Current measurement suitable for current control system of PMSM based on Model Predictive Control
2016 XXII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2016This paper describes current control system of PMSM based on Model Predictive Control (MPC) and discusses the relationship of its performance and current measurement method. A controller based on MPC predicts the current behavior, then directly selects the voltage vector of inverter based on evaluation of these predicted behavior results.

A Digital Predictive Current Control With Improved Sampled Inductor Current for Cascaded Inverters
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2009This paper proposes a current-control technique with a predictive control method for multilevel inverters. The proposed current-control method adopts a variable sampling point scheme for inductor current sensing. It is able to avoid the switching noise caused by the turn-on or turn-off of power devices.

Model predictive control of a current source inverter together with its current source
IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016Over the past years a great amount of research has been done to interconnect different energy sources with the power grid or different types of loads. Current source inverters have proved to be a good option due to its high reliability, fault tolerant capabilities, quasi soft switching and the use of lower capacitor values among others.

Predictive current control with current-error correction for PM brushless AC drives
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2005The performance of the conventional predictive current control (PCC) when applied to a permanent-magnet brushless ac (PM BLAC) drive is analyzed. A technique is proposed to reduce the current errors that arise due to the inaccuracies in the system parameters and the nonideal behavior of the inverter during a steady-state operation.

DSP based active power filter with predictive current control
Proceedings of IECON '95 - 21st Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics, 1997This paper presents an active power filter based on a digital signal processing (DSP) controller with enhanced current control performance. A novel predictive current control method is introduced to compensate the phase error of harmonic components caused by discrete sampling and finite nonnegligible execution time delay. The concept of average current
