The Efficacy and Safety of Bevacizumab/Irinotecan/Temozolomide (BIT) for Relapsed/Refractory Neuroblastoma: The UK Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group Experience

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with high‐risk neuroblastoma who either are refractory to induction chemotherapy or relapse following multi‐modal treatment have a dismal prognosis. Based on data from the BEACON trial, since 2021 the UK national guidelines recommend bevacizumab, irinotecan, and temozolomide (BIT) for patients with relapsed/refractory ...

Implementing Health‐Related Quality of Life Assessment in Pediatric Oncology: A Feasibility Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background There is growing interest in embedding health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) assessment and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) within clinical cancer care. Predictors of hematoma expansion predictors after intracerebral hemorrhage

open access: yesOncotarget, 2017
Despite years of effort, intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) remains the most devastating form of stroke with more than 40% 30-day mortality worldwide. Hematoma expansion (HE), which occurs in one third of ICH patients, is strongly predictive of worse prognosis and potentially preventable if high-risk patients were identified in the early phase of ICH.

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

A PRSZT Registry Analysis of Prognostic Factors Influencing Survival and Relapse Rates After Second Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A second allogeneic (allo‐)hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT2) is a potential curative option for pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) following relapse after first allogeneic transplantation (HSCT1), but its efficacy is limited by high relapse rates and transplant‐related toxicity in highly pretreated ...

Upacicalcet: A Novel Intravenous Calcimimetic Agent for Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis With Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication in patients receiving maintenance dialysis, driven by calcium and phosphate metabolism disturbances. Calcimimetics are central to the management of SHPT by enhancing calcium‐sensing receptor sensitivity and reducing parathyroid hormone secretion.
