Carinata Tolerance to Preemergence and Postemergence Herbicides
Weed Technology, 2017Carinata is a new biofuel crop that was recently introduced in the southeastern USA as a winter crop. This crop is competitive after canopy closure, but there is a need for weed control options at earlier growth stages. Field experiments were conducted from 2014 to 2016 to determine the safety of several PRE and POST herbicides in carinata ...

Weed technology, 2019
Widespread and repeated use of glyphosate resulted in an increase in glyphosate-resistant (GR) weeds. This led to an urgent need for diversification of weed control programs and use of PRE herbicides with alternative sites of action.

Weed Control in Soybean with Preemergence- and Postemergence-applied Herbicides
Crops & Soils, 2017The addition of effective herbicide sites of action in preemergence (PRE)‐ and postemergence (POST)‐applied programs could improve the effectiveness of weed control in soybean. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of several herbicides and herbicides premixes applied PRE‐only and POST‐only for control of 11 ...

The preemergency state of a hydraulic unit
Journal of Machinery Manufacture and Reliability, 2010The approaching emergency state of a hydraulic unit is analyzed when it can be due to the loosening of fixtures and the intensification of proper and induced vibrations accompanied by frequency beating and collisions of the structural components.

Preemergent Herbicides for Cantaloupe and Watermelon
Journal of Vegetable Crop Production, 1995The preernergence applied herbicides tested provided acceptable weed control in watermelon and cantaloupe for one month after planting. Plots treated with ethalfluralin had satisfactory yields, good weed control, and no crop injury. Bensulide and the sodium salt of naptalam in combination also resulted in satisfactory weed control for one month after ...

Amiben and Diuron Preemergence in Castorbeans
Weeds, 1966Although selectivity was low, 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea (diuron) gave excellent preemergence weed control when castorbeans (Ricinus communis L.) were planted 2 or 3 in deep. Excellent weed control with little crop injury by 3-amino-2,5-dichlorobenzoic acid (amiben) was provided also and selectivity was not affected by depth of planting.

Evaluation Technique for Preemergence Herbicides for Sugarcane
Weed Science, 1970An 1130 IBM computer was used to process data from experimental plots to evaluate performance of preemergence herbicides in Hawaiian sugarcane fields (planted with varieties of four Saccharum spp.). The evaluation technique compares performance of experimental herbicides with the performance of three standard herbicides [2-(ethyl-amino)-4 ...

Factors Affecting Performance of Preemergence Herbicides
Weed Science, 1968Spray and granular forms of isopropyl N-(3-chlorophenyl)-carbamate (CIPC, ethyl N,N-dipropylthiocarbamate (EPTC), a,a,a-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropyl-p-toluidine (trifluralin) and 2,4-bis(isopropylamino) -6-methylmercapto-s-triazine (prometryne) were incorporated preemergence to barnyardgrass Echinochloa crusgalli (1.) Beauv.) and broadleaf weeds ...

Preemergence herbicide delays the critical time of weed removal in popcorn
Weed technology, 2019Understanding the critical time of weed removal (CTWR) is necessary for designing effective weed management programs in popcorn production that do not result in yield reduction.
