A Model of Turbulent Burning Velocity taking the Preferential Diffusion Effect into Consideration.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series B, 1997
In our previous work, we found that the preferential diffusion in a turbulent flame played an important role in its turbulent combustion characteristics, and estimated the local burning velocity in premixed turbulent combustion experimentally, taking account of the preferential diffusion effect.

Silver-rich clusters in nanoporous gold

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters, 2017
High-resolution elemental mapping in a transmission electron microscope shows that the residual silver in dealloying-made nanoporous gold (NPG) is aggregated in nanoscale clusters.

Investigation on Ge surface diffusion via growing Ge quantum dots on top of Si pillars

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
We report on a simple and intuitionistic experimental method to quantitatively measure surface diffusion lengths of Ge adatoms on Si(001) substrates and its activation energy Ea, which is achieved by growing Ge quantum dots (QDs) on top surfaces of Si ...

Determination of Preferential Interaction Parameters by Multicomponent Diffusion. Applications to Poly(ethylene glycol)−Salt−Water Ternary Mixtures

open access: yes, 2016
Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) is a hydrophilic nonionic polymer used in many biochemical and pharmaceutical applications. We report the four diffusion coefficients for the PEG−KCl−water ternary system at 25 °C using precision Rayleigh interferometry. Here,

The Influence of Preferential Diffusion On the Blow-Off of Laminar Aerated Burner Flames [PDF]

open access: yes
The blow-off of a laminar aerated burner flame in which Hydrogen is present cannot be characterised by the flame stretch correlation proposed by Reed.

A Cleaner Phosphoric Acid Production Path: Simultaneous P Extraction and REE Enrichment via Controlled HCl Leaching

open access: yesSeparations
Rare earth elements (REEs), as significant associated resources in sedimentary phosphate deposits, are commonly processed via the conventional hydrochloric acid wet-process phosphoric acid route (IMI process).

Influence of Preferential Diffusion in Turbulent Lean Premixed Hydrogen-Rich Syngas Spherical Flames at Elevated Pressure

open access: yes, 2020
The objective of this work was to investigate the influence of preferential diffusion on flame structure and propagation of lean-premixed hydrogen-carbon monoxide syngas-air flame at elevated pressure using direct numerical simulation (DNS) and detailed ...

Turbulent partially cracked ammonia/air premixed spherical flames

open access: yesFuel Communications
The combustion of ammonia requires, for most energy conversion systems, a combustion promoter such as hydrogen to guarantee the start-up, stability and combustion efficiency.
