Bamboozle: A Bioinformatic Tool for Identification and Quantification of Intraspecific Barcodes

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 25, Issue 4, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Evolutionary changes in populations of microbes, such as microalgae, cannot be traced using conventional metabarcoding loci as they lack intraspecific resolution. Consequently, selection and competition processes among strains of the same species cannot be resolved without elaborate isolation, culturing, and genotyping efforts.

Classifications and Analysis of Caching Strategies in Information‐Centric Networking for Modern Communication Systems

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2025.
The graphical abstract illustrates an in‐depth discussion of ICN features, architectures, and naming schemes. It presents the categories of caching, followed by an examination of existing caching strategies, and explores the role of caching in diverse applications, including IoT, IoV, mobility, edge computing, and fog computing.

Resolving the early‐diverging clades of Loasaceae subfam. Loasoideae – Segregating the new genus Prosa from the Atacama Desert genus Huidobria

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 74, Issue 1, Page 101-116, February 2025.
Abstract Huidobria, an enigmatic genus in the Loasaceae family, has long puzzled botanists due to its unclear phylogenetic position and morphological distinctiveness within Loasaceae. Focusing on its two species, H. chilensis and H. fruticosa, we employed the Angiosperms353 target probe set alongside a comprehensive morphological evaluation to resolve ...

Cache-Aided Retrospective Interference Alignment in SISO X Wireless Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, one class of single-input single-output (SISO) X networks with cache at both transmitters and receivers is considered. Specifically, the X networks consist of two transmitters and K receivers.

Efficient Reduction of Access Latency through Object Correlations in Virtual Environments

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2007
Object correlations are common semantic patterns in virtual environments. They can be exploited to improve the effectiveness of storage caching, prefetching, data layout, and disk scheduling.

Hardware Design of DRAM Memory Prefetching Engine for General-Purpose GPUs

open access: yesTechnologies
General-purpose graphics computing on processing units (GPGPUs) face significant performance limitations due to memory access latencies, particularly when traditional memory hierarchies and thread-switching mechanisms prove insufficient for complex ...

Client-Driven Joint Cache Management and Rate Adaptation for Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Multimedia Broadcasting, 2013
Due to the fact that proxy-driven proxy cache management and the client-driven streaming solution of Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) are two independent processes, some difficulties and challenges arise in media data management at the proxy ...

Flow Level QoE of Video Streaming in Wireless Networks

open access: yes, 2014
The Quality of Experience (QoE) of streaming service is often degraded by frequent playback interruptions. To mitigate the interruptions, the media player prefetches streaming contents before starting playback, at a cost of delay.
