Causal relationship between body mass index and insulin resistance: Linear and nonlinear Mendelian randomization study in a Japanese population

We investigated the causal relationship between BMI and glycemic traits using Mendelian randomization in a Japanese population. Our findings revealed a positive association between BMI and insulin resistance, with potential heterogeneity and a J‐shaped relationship.
