Proteins involved in embryo-maternal interaction around the signalling of maternal recognition of pregnancy in the horse

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
During maternal recognition of pregnancy (MRP), a conceptus-derived signal leads to the persistence of the corpus luteum and the maintenance of gestation. In the horse, the nature of this signal remains to be elucidated.

Expression of isg15 in bone marrow during early pregnancy in ewes [PDF]

open access: yesKafkas Universitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Dergisi, 2017
Interferon-tau (IFNT) is the main signal for maternal recognition of pregnancy in ruminants. IFNT acts on the endometrium, corpus luteum, and liver through paracrine and endocrine style, which is involved in inhibiting the development of luteolytic ...

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Anti-Factor XII Autoantibodies in Patients with Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Recognize the Second Epidermal Growth Factor–Like Domain

open access: yesTH Open, 2019
Summary Background Factor XII (FXII) deficiency and autoantibodies that bind to FXII (anti-FXII) have been described in patients with adverse pregnancy outcomes, including recurrent pregnancy loss.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

The association between acute fatty liver disease and nitric oxide during malaria in pregnancy

open access: yesMalaria Journal, 2021
Background Liver disease is a common feature of malaria in pregnancy, but its pathogenesis remains unclear. Methods To understand the pathogenesis of liver disease during malaria in pregnancy, comparative proteomic analysis of the liver in a mouse model ...

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Locus-specific DNA methylation in the placenta is associated with levels of pro-inflammatory proteins in cord blood and they are both independently affected by maternal smoking during pregnancy

open access: yesEpigenetics, 2017
We investigated the impact of maternal smoking during pregnancy on placental DNA methylation and how this may mediate the association between maternal smoking and pro-inflammatory proteins in cord blood.
