Developing Metal–Polyphenol Network‐Based Single‐Protein Particle Encapsulation System for Sustained Release of Whey Protein to Mitigate Sarcopenia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sarcopenia has emerged as a major health challenge in the aging population. Developing a sustained‐release system for whey protein may enhance its effectiveness in mitigating sarcopenia. Herein, a novel “single‐protein particle encapsulation” (SPPE) system is developed to protect whey protein and control its release.

A Thirty‐Year Gap: Reviving All‐Nitride Glasses as Processable, High‐Performance Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oxygen‐free all‐nitride glasses are revisited in light of new avenues of synthesis, raw material availability, and applications. A semi‐empirical analysis predicts mechanical performance achieving the level of engineering ceramics while maintaining visual transparency, and significant potential regarding optical properties into the infrared spectral ...

Bottlebrush Polyolefin Sulfones as Triggerable and Degradable Pressure‐Sensitive Adhesives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A grafting‐through alternating copolymerization strategy yields poly(norbornene sulfone) bottlebrush polymers with high molar mass. These materials function as additive‐free pressure‐sensitive adhesives. The incorporation of cleavable sulfone units enables rapid breakdown under mild alkaline conditions, providing a pathway toward sustainable, high ...

In Situ Photo‑Crosslinked Functional Bilayer Hydrogel Modulates Local Microenvironment and Remyelination After Optic Nerve Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A blue‐light‐crosslinked bilayer hydrogel was developed for local optic nerve repair. The adhesive GM‐Odex outer layer seals and anchors the lesion, while the non‐adhesive GM‐imid inner layer releases MPDA‐Cle without obstructing CSF flow. This system modulates oxidative and inflammatory microenvironments, supports oligodendrocyte differentiation and ...

Synergistic Optimization of Cathode Composite Architecture and Stack Pressure for High‐Performance All‐Solid‐State Chloride‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Composite cathode engineering and stack pressure co‐optimization enable a high‐performance all‐solid‐state chloride‐ion battery based on a VOCl/CsSn₀.₉In₀.₀₆₇Cl3/In architecture, delivering 169 mAh g−1 with 500‐cycle durability. Electrode‐resolved impedance tracking via distribution of relaxation times revealed progressive interphase and charge ...

Hybrid Two‐Step Inkjet Printing and Dip‐Coating Enable Scalable 30%‐Efficient Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Adopting a scalable hybrid two‐step deposition process route, textured perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells achieve over 30% power‐conversion efficiency. The process route replaces all non‐scalable spin‐coating steps, including organic precursor deposition, self‐assembled monolayer formation, and passivation layer deposition, with scalable techniques ...

Exposure to heat waves and drought improves subsequent leaf heat tolerance for five oak species in southern California

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Given the threats of climate change, we investigated the impact of high temperatures separately and in combination with reduced soil water on leaf heat tolerance for five oaks (Fagaceae) with overlapping ranges in southern California, USA: Quercus agrifolia and Q. chrysolepis (evergreen species), Q. douglasii and Q.

Evaluation of therapeutic effects of D‐limonene following orchiopexy in the rat model of cryptorchidism

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
D‐limonene supplementation enhances testicular recovery following orchiopexy in a rat model of bilateral cryptorchidism. Treatment with D‐limonene reduces oxidative stress (↓MDA, ↑SOD, ↑GPx, ↑TAC), downregulates pro‐apoptotic proteins (↓TNF‐α, ↓BAX, ↓Caspase‐3), and upregulates anti‐apoptotic Bcl‐2 expression.
