Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

Real Time Monitoring and Control of Neonatal Incubator using IOT [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Grid and Distributed Computing, Vol. 14, No. 1, (2021), pp. 2117-2127, 2021
The care of new born babies are the most important and sensitive part of bio-medical domain. Some new born babies have a higher risk of mortality due to their gestational age or their birth weight. Most of the premature babies born on 32-37 weeks of gestation and are deceased due to their unmet need for warmth.

CRISPR targeting of FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation reduces malignant phenotype in granulosa tumor cells and identifies anti‐tumoral compounds

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
FOXL2 c.402C>G mutation drives granulosa cell tumors. Using CRISPR technology, we selectively corrected this mutation, reducing malignancy and increasing sensitivity to dasatinib and ketoconazole. Transcriptomic changes revealed potential therapeutic targets, demonstrating CRISPR's promise for treating this rare ovarian cancer.

Spontaneous eye-blinking rate from pre-term to six-months

open access: yesCogent Psychology, 2015
Little is known about the development of eye blinking, a spontaneous activity mediated by dopamine, from the period in utero to six months after birth. We evaluated spontaneous eye blinking rates (SBR) for 11 full-term and 11 premature infants with their

Stochastic variation in the FOXM1 transcription program mediates replication stress tolerance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cellular heterogeneity is a major cause of drug resistance in cancer. Segeren et al. used single‐cell transcriptomics to investigate gene expression events that correlate with sensitivity to the DNA‐damaging drugs gemcitabine and prexasertib. They show that dampened expression of transcription factor FOXM1 and its target genes protected cells against ...

Environmental noise exposure, early biological risk and mental health in nine to ten year old children: a cross-sectional field study

open access: yesEnvironmental Health, 2011
Background Previous research suggests that children born prematurely or with a low birth weight are more vulnerable to the mental health effects of ambient neighbourhood noise; predominantly road and rail noise, at home.

Screening Examination of Premature Infants for Retinopathy of Prematurity [PDF]

open access: yesPediatrics, 2013
This statement revises a previous statement on screening of preterm infants for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) that was published in 2006. ROP is a pathologic process that occurs only in immature retinal tissue and can progress to a tractional retinal detachment, which can result in functional or complete blindness. Use of peripheral retinal ablative
