Premature Ventricular Complex Causing Ice-Pick Headache
Ice pick headache is a momentary, transient, repetitive headache disorder and manifests with the stabbing pains and jolts. The exact mechanism causing this disease is unknown. Premature ventricular contractions are early depolarization of the ventricular

Cough Reflex by Ventricular Premature Contractions
A 72-year-old man was referred for further assessment of a chronic cough. He noticed an association between the episodes of coughing and palpitations. Electrocardiography (ECG) revealed normal sinus rhythm and sporadic unifocal ventricular premature contractions (VPCs). Each cough was preceded by a premature beat.

Radiofrequency catheter ablation of premature ventricular contractions from near the His‐bundle
This study aimed to investigate the effects of radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) and clinical and electrophysiological characteristics in symptomatic patients with premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) from near the His‐bundle (His‐PVCs).

Objective High intensity conditioning autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) is standard of care for patients with advanced SSc. The role of reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) prior to AHSCT in this population remains unclear. We conducted this study to determine the long‐term outcomes of RIC AHSCT in SSc patients with cardiac ...

Pacemaker Prevention Therapy in Drug–refractory Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation: Reliability of Diagnostics and Effectiveness of Prevention Pacing Therapy in Vitatron™ Selection® device [PDF]
Introduction. Atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common and rising disorder of cardiac rhythm, is quite difficult to control and/or to treat. Non pharmacological therapies for AF may involve the use of dedicated pacing algorithms to detect and prevent ...

Biomaterial design strategies for enhancing mitochondrial transplantation therapy
Biomaterials to facilitate mitochondrial transplantation therapy: biomaterials as barriers to protect mitochondria from pathophysiological microenvironments, like osmotic stress caused by the excessive concentration of calcium ion, reactive oxygen species, and advanced glycation end products; biomaterials integrating with biochemical cues to improve ...

Retrospective, Multicenter Study of Lacosamide to Treat Neonatal Seizures
ABSTRACT Objective Most antiseizure medications (ASMs) are prescribed off label for neonates. Lacosamide's efficacy in infants and availability in intravenous formulation suggest potential utility for neonates. We evaluated the safety and efficacy of lacosamide for neonatal seizures. Methods This 10‐center, retrospective study of neonates with seizures
