Unsupervised Classification of Premature Ventricular Contractions Based on RR Interval and Heartbeat Morphology

open access: yes, 2018
Accurate automated detection of premature ventricular contractions from electrocardiogram requires a training set or expert intervention. We propose a fully automated unsupervised detection method.

Response to equine cardiac adverse events during sports

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.
Summary Cardiac adverse events and sudden death are a feared scenario for equine veterinarians, with serious consequences for animal health, riders' safety and the social licence to operate equestrian sports. The response to equine cardiac adverse events (CAEs) during sports is poorly defined.

ARMYTHMIC ACTIVITY OF MYOCARDIUM AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF ANESTHESIA AND PERI-OPERATIVE PERIOD IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING CHOLECYSTECTOMY

open access: yesВестник анестезиологии и реаниматологии, 2019
Prevention of cardiovascular complications, which often result in fatal events in the peri-operative period, is one of the most crucial issues of modern anesthesiology. The objective: to investigate the changes in arrhythmic activity and conduction ...

Agreement of the performance of equine electrocardiogram recording devices for ECG complexity analysis

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Non‐linear equine electrocardiography (ECG) analysis is an actively developing study area which has the potential to lead to novel, artificial intelligence‐based diagnostic tools in equine cardiology. As more ECG recording devices are becoming available, there is a need to ensure results are interchangeable regardless of the ...

Chd4 and ThPOK cooperate to preserve structural and electrophysiological integrity of the adult heart through Sprr1a repression

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Chd4/NuRD and ThPOK cooperate to maintain transcriptional repression and nuclear organization in adult cardiomyocytes. Chd4 loss reduces miR‐150‐5p, relieving repression of Sprr1a, while ThPOK loss further enhances Sprr1a activation, possibly through altered chromatin–lamina interactions.

Frequent premature ventricular contractions induced by fluconazole: A case report

open access: yes
Introduction: Fluconazole is commonly used to treat and prevent fungal infections caused by Candida and Cryptococcus species. Although there have been reports of fatal arrhythmias induced by fluconazole, such as torsades de pointes, there have been ...

Zero‐Contrast Versus Contrast‐Guided Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion: A Comparative Analysis of Procedural and Long‐Term Outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
Zero‐contrast left atrial appendage occlusion yielded high procedural success and similar periprocedural adverse event rates compared to the contrast‐guided approach. At 45‐day follow‐up, successful LAA closure (defined as peri‐device leak ≤ 5 mm) and device‐related thrombus rates were similar.

Adenosine Sensitivity is Associated with Ablation Success Rate and Recurrence Rate with Nonirrigated Catheters in Patients with Ventricular Premature Contractions/Tachycardia from the Ventricular Outflow Tract

open access: yesChinese Medical Journal, 2015
Background: A high ablation success rate for ventricular arrhythmia (VA) from outflow tract has been achieved, but some of them cannot be eliminated from endocardium.

Prevalence and Recovery of Arrhythmia‐Induced Cardiomyopathy in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Heart Failure Using a Wearable Defibrillator: A Real‐World Cohort Study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract summarizes the study design and main findings in patients with newly diagnosed left ventricular systolic dysfunction and concomitant arrhythmia undergoing early rhythm control under wearable cardioverter‐defibrillator protection.

Comparison of Spatio‐Temporal Dispersion Electrogram Ablation and Low Voltage Zone Ablation in Patients With Persistent Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
This study compared STDE‐guided versus LVZ‐guided ablation beyond PVI in 107 persistent AF patients. At 24 months, the AF‐free survival rate was significantly higher in the STDE group (76.3% vs. 58.4%, p=0.027). STDE ablation independently reduced recurrence risk (HR: 0.29, p=0.004), providing superior clinical efficacy over LVZ ablation.
