The right indemnity in the case of expropriation constraint reiteration
Section 39 of the current consolidated expropriation act states: “while expecting a systematic re-regulation of the matter, in the case of reiteration of a preordered constraint or a practical expropriation constraint, the estate owner is entitled to an ...

On the use of partial orders in uniform spaces
We investigate the use of nets indexed by preorders in uniform spaces. Nine different Cauchy conditions and four different convergence conditions yield 36 completeness properties, each of which turns out to be equivalent to a known form of completeness ...

Profile Trees for Büchi Word Automata, with Application to Determinization [PDF]
The determinization of Buchi automata is a celebrated problem, with applications in synthesis, probabilistic verification, and multi-agent systems. Since the 1960s, there has been a steady progress of constructions: by McNaughton, Safra, Piterman, Schewe,

Generalized Contractive Set-Valued Maps on Complete Preordered Quasi-Metric Spaces
By using a suitable modification of the notion of a w-distance we obtain some fixed point results for generalized contractive set-valued maps on complete preordered quasi-metric spaces.

Control Strategies in Guanine Biocrystallization
Biological guanine crystals produce spectacular photonic phenomena in animals and hold great promise as new, sustainable optical materials. We review how organisms precisely control the structure, morphologies, and resulting optical properties of these crystals using a set of ingenious ‘design’ strategies, including control of pH, template‐directed ...

Abstract Standard decision theory ranks risky prospects by their expected utility. This ranking does not change if the values of all possible outcomes are uniformly shifted or dilated. Similarly, if the values of the outcomes are negated, the ranking of prospects by their expected utility is reversed.

Toward a theory of monomial preorders [PDF]
In this paper we develop a theory of monomial preorders, which differ from the classical notion of monomial orders in that they allow ties between monomials. Since for monomial preorders, the leading ideal is less degenerate than for monomial orders, our results can be used to study problems where monomial orders fail to give a solution.

Shellular materials form spontaneously by dip coating the primitive triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) wireframe in an aqueous solution of lyotropic liquid crystalline graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets mixed with polymers. Regulated by surface tension, GO nanosheets align on the polymer soap film as the stress builds up during drying.
