Generalized Contractive Set-Valued Maps on Complete Preordered Quasi-Metric Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2013
By using a suitable modification of the notion of a w-distance we obtain some fixed point results for generalized contractive set-valued maps on complete preordered quasi-metric spaces.

Geometrically Templated, Ultra‐Lightweight and High Strength Soap Films from Lyotropic Liquid Crystalline Graphene Oxide/Polymer Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 8, 26 January 2026.
Shellular materials form spontaneously by dip coating the primitive triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) wireframe in an aqueous solution of lyotropic liquid crystalline graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets mixed with polymers. Regulated by surface tension, GO nanosheets align on the polymer soap film as the stress builds up during drying.

An Ultrapotent, Ultraeconomical, Antifreeze Polypeptide

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 4, 16 January 2026.
Simple and inexpensive polypeptides composed of random copolymers of alanine and glutamic acid are effective antifreezes for applications in foods and biomedicine. The polypeptides, inspired by natural extremophile proteins, inhibit the growth of large ice crystals and prevent damage to sensitive biologics.

Strategies to reduce the energy content of foods pre-ordered for lunch in the workplace: a randomised controlled trial in an experimental online canteen

open access: yesInternational Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, 2022
Background Prompting employees to swap their usual lunches for lower-energy alternatives may help align energy intake with public health recommendations.

Toward a theory of monomial preorders [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2017
In this paper we develop a theory of monomial preorders, which differ from the classical notion of monomial orders in that they allow ties between monomials. Since for monomial preorders, the leading ideal is less degenerate than for monomial orders, our results can be used to study problems where monomial orders fail to give a solution.

Neuromorphic Device Based on Material and Device Innovation toward Multimode and Multifunction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
In the era of big data, multimodal and multifunctional neuromorphic devices offer significant opportunities in designing AI hardware. In this work, recent advances about emerging material systems and novel device structures in this field are summarized in detail. Potential applications are reviewed.

“It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it”: Committed consumers' voluntary emotion work in alternative market systems

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Psychology, Volume 35, Issue 4, Page 584-601, October 2025.
Abstract Despite increasing attention to alternative market systems, where consumers perform considerable voluntary labor, consumer researchers have a limited understanding of the nature or implications of the emotion work entailed in making such contributions.

The partially pre-ordered set of compactifications of Cp(X, Y)

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2015
In the set of compactifications of X we consider the partial pre-order defined by (W, h) ≤X (Z, g) if there is a continuous function f : Z ⇢ W, such that (f ∘ g)(x) = h(x) for every x ∈ X. Two elements (W, h) and (Z, g) of K(X) are equivalent, (W, h) ≡X (
