Unveiling soil microbial diversity through ultra‐deep short‐read metagenomic sequencing and co‐assembly

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
By combining ultra‐deep short‐read shotgun metagenomic sequencing with 5‐sample co‐assembly across 600 agricultural soil samples, we significantly enhanced the representation and recovery of microbial communities in both clay and sandy soils. Despite an average of 107 Gb clean reads per sample, projections indicated that 1–4 Tb per sample would be ...

Perinatal Exposure to the Neonicotinoid Thiacloprid Impacts Transcription of Neuroplasticity and Neuroendocrine Markers in Mice but Not in the Zebrafish Model

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neonicotinoids are widely used insecticides in agriculture, aquaculture, pet care, and urban pest control. Initially developed to selectively target the insect cholinergic system, their extensive use has raised concerns about adverse effects on nontarget vertebrates.

The co‐occurrence of social adversities in early adolescence and their relationship to cognitive outcomes later in development

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Using latent profile analysis, we investigated the co‐occurrence of adverse experiences in two UK cohorts (UKHLS and ALSPAC, total N > 15,000). We identified four profiles in both cohorts: low adversity, peer difficulties, sibling bullying, and poly‐adversity. 17%–22% of participants reported experiencing several social adversities.

Swallowing rehabilitation in aspiration pneumonia: A scoping review of compensatory strategies and exercise training effectiveness

open access: yesJournal of General and Family Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aspiration pneumonia (AP) is a major concern in aging populations. AP management requires a comprehensive, multimodal approach—notably including swallowing rehabilitation, oral care, and risk factor management. This scoping review evaluates evidence on swallowing rehabilitation for AP, which consists of compensatory strategies and exercise ...

Chronic atrial and intestinal dysrythmia syndrome: A late‐onset intestinal pseudo‐obstruction and cardiac dysfunction due to an SGO1 mutation

open access: yesJPGN Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Pediatric intestinal pseudo‐obstruction (PIPO) is a rare, heterogeneous, and severe gut motility disorder. In 2014, Chetaille et al. described chronic atrial and intestinal dysrhythmia (CAID) syndrome associated with a recessive SGO1 mutation (p.Lys23Glu) linking it to both intestinal pseudo‐obstruction and cardiac dysrhythmia. This
