Commutator maps, measure preservation, and T-systems [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 2007
Let G be a finite simple group. We show that the commutator map $a : G \times G \to G$ is almost equidistributed as the order of G goes to infinity. This somewhat surprising result has many applications.

Isochoric Supercooling Organ Preservation System [PDF]

open access: yesBioengineering, 2023
This technical paper introduces a novel organ preservation system based on isochoric (constant volume) supercooling. The system is designed to enhance the stability of the metastable supercooling state, offering potential long-term preservation of large biological organs at subfreezing temperatures without the need for cryoprotectant additives ...

Minnesota System Corneal Preservation [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Ophthalmology, 1986
The clinical and laboratory results with a modified Minnesota system of organ culture corneal preservation are presented. A refinement of our preservation technique using a closed system, as well as the addition of chondroitin sulphate to the medium is presented. Laboratory results show preservation of corneal endothelial integrity for at least 21 days

Systemic therapy in bladder preservation

open access: yesUrologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations, 2023
Bladder cancer is an aggressive and lethal disease. Even when presenting as localized muscle-invasive disease, the 5-year survival rate is about 70%, and the recurrence rate after radical cystectomy is approximately 50%. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) has the potential to downstage the primary tumor and treat micrometastases, leading to a decrease in ...
