Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Event Systems and Access Control [PDF]
We consider the interpretations of notions of access control (permissions, interdictions, obligations, and user rights) as run-time properties of information systems specified as event systems with fairness.

Linear energy-preserving integrators for Poisson systems [PDF]
The authors introduce a new class of energy conserving integrators in order to solve initial value problems for non-canonical Hamiltonian systems. In contrast to similar integrators, these are invariant to linear transformations. They also conserve quadratic Casimir functions and they are of arbitrarily order of accuracy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Discrete Nonholonomic LL Systems on Lie Groups
This paper applies the recently developed theory of discrete nonholonomic mechanics to the study of discrete nonholonomic left-invariant dynamics on Lie groups.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Energy-Preserving Integrators Applied to Nonholonomic Systems [PDF]
We introduce energy-preserving integrators for nonholonomic mechanical systems. We will see that the nonholonomic dynamics is completely determined by a triple $({\mathcal D}^*, Π, \mathcal{H})$, where ${\mathcal D}^*$ is the dual of the vector bundle determined by the nonholonomic constraints, $Π$ is an almost-Poisson bracket (the nonholonomic bracket)

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Geometric analysis of noisy perturbations to nonholonomic constraints
We propose two types of stochastic extensions of nonholonomic constraints for mechanical systems. Our approach relies on a stochastic extension of the Lagrange-d'Alembert framework. We consider in details the case of invariant nonholonomic systems on the
