Q&P PROCESS IN PRESS-HARDENING OF 42SICR STEEL

open access: yesActa Metallurgica Slovaca, 2018
One of today’s advanced heat treatment routes for high-strength steels is the Q&P process which delivers high ultimate strengths combined with good ductility. The resulting microstructure is a combination of martensite and small fractions of bainite and retained austenite. Retained austenite has the form of thin needles adjacent to martensite laths.

Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Enhancement of strength-ductility trade-off in a 2000 MPa grade press-hardened steel via refined martensite with stable high-density cementite

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
High-strength press-hardened steels (PHSs) are characterized by a martensite structure of high strength and adequate ductility. Strengthening PHSs with high C contents is usually accompanied by a loss of ductility and toughness. To overcome this inherent

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Influence of the Press Closing Time Upon the Properties of HDF Panels [PDF]

open access: yesPro Ligno, 2018
The closing time of the press is an important technological parameter which influences the density profile of the panels. It also has a decisive influence within the gluing process.

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Alloy Optimization for Reducing Delayed Fracture Sensitivity of 2000 MPa Press Hardening Steel

open access: yesMetals, 2020
Press hardening steel (PHS) is widely applied in current automotive body design. The trend of using PHS grades with strengths above 1500 MPa raises concerns about sensitivity to hydrogen embrittlement.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
