Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

The kinematic optimization of a type of parallel manipulator is addressed. Based on the kinematic analysis, the pressure angles within a limb and among the limbs are introduced, which have definite physical and geometrical meanings. In particular, a type

Control integration concept for hypersonic cruise-turn maneuvers [PDF]
Piloting difficulties associated with conducting aircraft maneuvers in hypersonic flight are caused in part by the nonintuitive nature of the aircraft response and the stringent constraints anticipated on allowable angle of attack and dynamic pressure ...

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Research on Wellbore Collapse of Stratification Formation
The development micro-fractures, joints and bedding in the middle and deep strata of the Bohai Oilfield makes the collapse pressure predicted using conventional integrate formation not consistent with actual situation.

Exploratory wind tunnel tests of a shock-swallowing air data sensor at a Mach number of approximately 1.83 [PDF]
The test probe was designed to measure free-stream Mach number and could be incorporated into a conventional airspeed nose boom installation. Tests were conducted in the Langley 4-by 4-foot supersonic pressure tunnel with an approximate angle of attack ...

Ram pressure stripping and galaxy orbits: The case of the Virgo cluster
We investigate the role of ram pressure stripping in the Virgo cluster using N-body simulations. Radial orbits within the Virgo cluster's gravitational potential are modeled and analyzed with respect to ram pressure stripping.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Numerical simulation study on the propagation and attenuation of shock waves in ventilation tunnels
This study systematically investigated the influence of tunnel spatial characteristics on the propagation and attenuation patterns of gas explosion shock waves by establishing models of straight tunnels with varying bending angles and branched tunnels ...

An evaluation of the method for determining the Whitham F-function using distributions of downwash and sidewash angles [PDF]
The method of computing the Whitham F function using distributions of downwash and sidewash angles was evaluated with two different models. F functions which were calculated for a half angle cone cylinder at M infinites = 2.01, using theoretically and ...
