Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Root stresses of helical gears with highr pressure angle.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1986

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Compositional, mechanical and transport properties of carbonate fault rocks and the seismic cycle in limestone terrains: A case study of surface exposures on the Longmenshan Fault, Sichuan, China

open access: yes, 2015
Destructive earthquakes are common in tectonically active regions dominated by carbonate cover rocks. The catastrophic Wenchuan earthquake that struck Sichuan, China, also affected a section of carbonate cover terrain.

Research of the Effects of Pressure Angle on Mesh Characteristic of Involute Cylindrical Gear

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2016
The mesh model for the conventional involute gear pair is developed. Then the mesh characteristic is solved and analyzed. Based on the mesh model and the calculated results, the effects of normal pressure angle on the meshing slip coefficient, tooth root ...

Active State Earth Pressure based on Dubrova’s Method of Redistribution of Pressure

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Structural Engineering, 2018
Modes and magnitude of wall movement have great influence on the distribution of earth pressure behind retaining wall. For gravity retaining wall exerted by cohesionless soil rotating outward about the base, based on Dubrova’s method of redistribution ...

Influence of Gear Errors on Rotational Vibration of Power Transmission Spur Gears : 1st Report, Pressure Angle Error and Normal Pitch Error

open access: yes, 1984
In this study, a power transmission spur gear is preferably a profile corrected spur gear. Supposing it is allowable that the given value deviates about ten-odd percent from the actual acceleration, it is synthesized how a pressure angle error and a ...

Normal‐Appearing White Matter Injury Mediates Chronic Deep Venous Hypoxia and Disease Progression in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...
