Distribution of intraocular pressure in dogs

Veterinary Ophthalmology, 1998
Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured by four different applanation tonometers in normal dogs. By MacKay‐Marg tonometry in 391 dogs (772 eyes) the mean ± SD IOP was 18.8 ± 5.5 mmHg (range 8–52 mmHg). Using Tono‐Pen XL tonometry in 421 dogs (823 eyes) the mean IOP was 19.2 ± 5.9 mmHg, and the range was 4.42 mmHg. With MMAC‐II tonometry in 80 dogs (158

Plantar pressure distribution after tibiotalar arthrodesis

Clinical Biomechanics, 2011
Arthrodesis is a well-established treatment option for end-stage osteoarthritis of the ankle. Osteoarthritis of the ankle can alter plantar pressure distribution. However, surprisingly little is known about the effect of ankle arthrodesis to alter plantar pressure distribution. The purpose of this study was to determine plantar pressure distribution in

Pressure distribution beneath the human foot

Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association, 1993
A descriptive study was undertaken to establish the 95 percentile limits (proposed normal reference range) for pressure beneath the hallux, metatarsal heads, and heel in a group of healthy adult subjects. A new force plate device capable of accurately measuring discrete areas of pressure beneath the human foot with high temporal and spatial resolution ...

Contact Pressure and Stress Distribution

1995
A foundation is the interface between a structural load and the ground. The stress q applied by a structure to a foundation is often assumed to be uniform. The actual pressure then applied by the foundation to the soil is a reaction, called the contact pressure p and its distribution beneath the foundation may be far from uniform.

Pressure distribution at the ankle joint

Journal of Biomechanics, 1990
Biomechanical factors such as trauma or overweight are discussed in relation to the aetiology of osteochondral lesions. As a consequence of the possible influence of these factors on joint loading patterns the pressure distribution on the load-bearing ankle joint has been investigated in a cadaveric biostatic model.

Distribution of Intraocular Pressure

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1997
To provide data on the distribution of intraocular pressure (IOP) in a predominantly black population, which has a high prevalence of open-angle glaucoma.Population-based prevalence study.Participants (N = 4601) (age range, 40-84 years) who had undergone applanation tonometry measurements in the Barbados Eye Study.

Pressure distribution and flow characteristics during negative pressure wound therapy

Journal of Tissue Viability, 2020
Negative pressure wound therapy is thought to improve wound healing by altering capillary perfusion. However, despite many theories, the underlying mechanism of action remains controversial. Recent evidence suggests an increased tissue pressure and a temporary decreased microvascular blood flow as the main reasons for the good clinical results [1].

Pressure distribution in the wrist joint

Journal of Orthopaedic Research, 1988
AbstractWe performed a study to determine pressure distribution properties of the normal radio‐carpal joint. A system was developed for measurement of the contact pressure within the wrist joint surfaces. The transducer was based on Fuji pressure‐sensitive paper, which was inserted into the joint space through a dorsal capsular incision.

Pressure distribution in a multianvil high-pressure device

Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1973
Pressure distribution in an octahedral pressure medium (pyrophyllite) placed in a multianvil (eight-anvil) high-pressure apparatus was measured by applying phase transitions in the calibrated metal (bismuth). It has been shown that the pressure at the edge of the octahedral medium is about 14% lower than that at the centre, where the pressure is 25.2 ...

Pressure Distribution in Tissue

2019
This chapter introduces estimates and measurements of the pressure distribution in tissue. Several physical and computer models are included to show the results of estimating tissue pressure distribution. Experimental results suggest causes of pressure sore formation.
