Field mapping of ballistic pressure pulse sources

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering, 2015
Ballistic pressure pulse sources are used since late 1990s for the extracorporeal treatment of chronic Enthesitis. Newly indications are found in trigger-point-therapy for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. In both applications excellent results

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Prospects and applications of efficient physical fields in enhancing quality stability of berries during processing: a review

open access: yesFood Innovation and Advances
Berries are characterized by their high nutrient content and the presence of bioactive compounds. However, their thin skin and high moisture content render them highly susceptible to postharvest spoilage.

Effects of pressure and magnetic field on superconductivity in ZrTe3: local pair-induced superconductivity

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2017
In this work, the origin of the highly anisotropic superconducting transition in ZrTe _3 , where the resistance along the a axis, R _a , is reduced at 4 K but those along the b axis, R _b , and ${c}^{\prime }$ axis, R _c _′ , are reduced at 2 K, was ...

Silicon field emission pressure sensor

open access: yes, 1993
In view of the specific advantages of using vacuum as device medium and field emission cathode as electron source, a renewed interest in vacuum microelectronics utilizing advanced IC technology is emerging. This thesis demonstrates an application of field emission emitters in two novel pressure sensors.

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

Thermodynamic properties of Pb determined from pressure-dependent critical-field measurements

open access: yes, 2007
We have carried out extensive low-temperature (1.5 to 10 K) measurements of the critical field, $H_c$, for the element Pb up to a pressure of $P=1.2$ GPa.

Hospital Readmission After Traumatic Brain Injury Hospitalization in Community‐Dwelling Older Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the risk of hospital readmission after an index hospitalization for TBI in older adults. Methods Using data from the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study, we used propensity score matching of individuals with an index TBI‐related hospitalization to individuals with (1) non‐TBI hospitalizations (primary analysis)

Pressure field in measurement section of wind tunnel

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The University of Defence in Brno has a new low-speed wind tunnel. In order to confirm the quality of the wind inside of the measurement section, several measurements of the dynamic pressure have been performed with the Pitot-static tube.

Functional Connectivity Linked to Cognitive Recovery After Minor Stroke

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Patients with minor stroke exhibit slowed processing speed and generalized alterations in functional connectivity involving frontoparietal cortex (FPC). The pattern of connectivity evolves over time. In this study, we examine the relationship of functional connectivity patterns to cognitive performance, to determine ...
