Effect of wave disturbance on the fluid dynamics of the pump turbine in a seawater pumped storage hydroplant

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2023
Compared with conventional pumped-storage hydroplants, seawater pumped-storage hydroplants are constructed in a complex marine environment. The wave disturbance may affect the safety operation of the pump turbine in the seawater pumped hydroplant via ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Flow Pulsation Characteristic of External Gear Pump and Analysis of Influencing Factor

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2020
Based on the bench test of oil pump, the influence of pump outlet pressure on flow pulsation of external gear oil pump is analyzed. The results show that the flow pulsation coefficient of the oil pump decreased with the increase of pump outlet pressure ...

Driving pulsation analysis of electro-hydraulic robot

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2020
The hydraulic driving source plays an important role in the performance of the electro-hydraulic robot. In this paper, the Lumped parameter method is used to establish the pressure-flow characteristic model of the constant pressure variable pump of a 6 ...

Sinusoidal shaped hollow fibers for enhanced mass transfer

open access: yes, 2017
Inducing secondary flows and vortices is known to enhance mass transport. They can be imposed by structured flow channels for instance. In particular, these vortices reduce fouling and concentration polarization.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Radial Stellar Pulsation and 3D Convection. I. Numerical Methods and Adiabatic Test Cases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We are developing a 3D radiation hydrodynamics code to simulate the interaction of convection and pulsation in classical variable stars. One key goal is the ability to carry these simulations to full amplitude in order to compare them with observed light

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
