Integrating Pressure-Retarded Osmosis and Membrane Distillation
2019Exploring new technology to produce renewable energy has received more attention in recent years. A hybrid process of pressure-retarded osmosis (PRO) coupled with membrane distillation (MD) has been proposed as one of the alternatives for fossil fuels. The former process is used for energy production and the latter is appropriate for thermal separation

Water flux in Pressure Retarded Osmosis
Desalination, 2015Abstract The transport of water through a semipermeable membrane in Pressure Retarded Osmosis (PRO) has been considered. The water flux is believed to consist of two components. The water flux from feed to draw solution is due to the difference in the water concentrations of feed and draw solutions.

Technoeconomic analysis of pressure-retarded osmosis
2020Pressure-retarded osmosis (PRO) is a renewable method of power production from salinity gradients which has generated significant academic and commercial interest. Because PRO is a non-intermittent technology (i.e., the energy output can be actively controlled) and it has huge global capacity (1.4-2.6 TW global salinity gradient power potential), a ...
