Prestressed Concrete Containment Model
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1984The construction and testing of a model of a prestressed concrete containment structure is described. The test structure consisted of a reinforced concrete base, cylindrical wall, ring beam and dome built of prestressed concrete with construction details patterned after the Canadian CANDU reactor containment. The overall height above the base was 12 ft‐

Numerical modeling and simulation of a prestressed concrete containment vessel
Annals of Nuclear Energy, 2018Abstract This work addresses the numerical modeling and simulation of prestressed concrete containment vessels (PCCVs) using the damaged-plasticity model for concrete and accounting for its interactions with the steel materials (i.e., the steel rebars, liner plate and prestressed tendons).

Design of radial reinforcement for prestressed concrete containments
Nuclear Engineering and Design, 2013Nuclear containments are critical components for safety of nuclear power plants. Failure can result in catastrophic safety consequences as a result of leakage of radiation. Prestressed concrete containments have been used in large nuclear power plants with significant design internal pressure.

Ultimate analysis of PWR prestressed concrete containment under long-term prestressing loss
Annals of Nuclear Energy, 2016Abstract Numerical analyses are carried out by using the Abaqus finite element program to predict the ultimate pressure capacity and the failure mode of the PWR prestressed concrete containment at Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant, Taiwan, R.O.C. under long term prestressing loss.

Torsion in prestressed concrete beams containing steel fibres
International Journal of Cement Composites and Lightweight Concrete, 1984Abstract Torsion test results on 43 plain and prestressed beams, reinforced with steel fibres are presented and discussed; of these, nine were made of concrete and the remainder with mortar (i.e. without any course aggregate). The parameters varied were the fibre content, concrete strength and the type and extent of prestressing.

Instrumentation in prestressed concrete containment structures
Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1968Abstract Instrumentation programs developed for several prestressed concrete containment structures currently under construction in the United States are described. Instrumentation programs of prestressed concrete nuclear reactors in Europe are reviewed.

An evaluation of structural failure modes for prestressed concrete containments
Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1987Abstract Prestressed Concrete Containment Vessels (PCCVs) refer to a popular type of containment used in the United States for Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs). This paper presents analytically predicted ultimate pressures and seismic levels for PCCVs, considering various modes of failures. Results for six containments are presented, and correlated

Prestressed concrete containment of nuclear power station with PWR
Nuclear Engineering and Design, 2002The initial steps of the development of prestressed concrete containment (PCC) for nuclear power plant (NPP) with pressurized water reactors (PWR) in the former USSR are analyzed. The constructive and technological decisions, accepted for primary PCC of Novovoronez NPP, such as the positioning of reinforcement elements and seaths in cylindrical wall ...
