Asymmetry and Rigidity in Farm‐Retail Price Transmission

American Journal of Agricultural Economics, 1999
AbstractThis article demonstrates how retail‐price transmission asymmetry can arise from intertemporal optimizing behavior among spatially competitive retailers facing concave spatial demand and shows that vigorous competition among retailers may not necessarily result in the larger retail‐price declines farmers expect during periods of declining farm ...

Target Information Asymmetry and Acquisition Price

Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, 2016
AbstractThis study investigates the effects of target information asymmetry in a takeover transaction. We find that a target with more information asymmetry receives a larger bid premium from the acquirer. We examine the response of the acquirer's investors to the bid to clarify whether the larger bid premium is an overpayment by the acquirer.

Network asymmetries and pricing in 5G telecommunications

2020 12th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT), 2020
In this paper we consider network asymmetries and services pricing in 5G telecommunications with two period technology diffusion model. The interaction of the users, telecommunication companies and

STATE DEPENDENT PRICING AND BUSINESS CYCLE ASYMMETRIES* [PDF]

open access: possibleInternational Economic Review, 2007
We present a tractable, dynamic general equilibrium model of state‐dependent pricing and study the response of output and prices to monetary policy shocks. We find important nonlinearities in these responses. For empirically relevant shocks, this generates substantially different predictions from time‐dependent pricing.

Asymmetries in Price Setting

2007
Abstract This chapter reports the results on price setting asymmetries of French manufacturing companies from a survey conducted by the Banque de France during winter 2003–04. Price increases are more likely (70 percent) than price decreases (30 percent) among price changes.
