The High Energy X-ray telescope (HE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite

Science China Physics Mechanics and Astronomy, 2019
The Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) is a broadband X-ray and γ-ray (1-3000 keV) astronomy satellite. One of its three main telescopes is the High Energy X-ray telescope (HE).

Euclid preparation. LXXI. Simulations and nonlinearities beyond LambdaCDM. 3. Constraints on f(R) models from the photometric primary probes

Astronomy & Astrophysics
We study the constraint on f(R) gravity that can be obtained by photometric primary probes of the Euclid mission. Our focus is the dependence of the constraint on the theoretical modelling of the nonlinear matter power spectrum.

VISUALIZATIONS IN PRIMARY EDUCATION. EFFECTS ON THE CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF BASIC ASTRONOMY CONCEPTS FOR CHILDREN UP TO TEN YEARS OLD

EDULEARN Proceedings, 2019
Human’s first attempt to visualize and represent various experiences and physical phenomena started 42,000 years ago. From these first visualizations until the modern 3D representations we can share/gather valuable information on how the world works. Visualizations have proven to be effective teaching and learning tools in science education.

<title>Tests And Quality Of The 3.5 Meter Primary Mirror Of The Max-Planck-Institut Fur Astronomie's Telescope At Calar Alto</title>

SPIE Proceedings, 1982
The figuring of the 3.5 m primary mirror of the large telescope is described. The execution of final tests was carried out in a vertical test tunnel by means of a laser interferometer, using a compensating system. A special sequence of interferograms was applied aiming to suppress the thermal, accidental, and environmental influences.

Astronomy in primary teacher training: an interdisciplinary context to foster mathematics and science education

We examine how to foster a better appreciation of mathematics and science among trainee school teachers in order to improve their engagement in the teaching of scientific disciplines. To this effect, we adopt an approach based on the “polyvalence” of the school teacher.
